Robin’s been found dead! And that’s not an easy thing to face – especially when you’re Tim Drake! In this pre-RED ROBIN tale, Tim and Batman must solve the murder of an impostor Robin and follow the trail of someone putting together a new team of teenaged sidekicks made up of kids who’ve been promised that they’ll become the new Robin…If they survive!

Reminds me of the Batman Confidential arc about the Wrath taking on an apprentice (Since Batman had Robin) and more than a few children dying during the training.

Dick-Bats or Bruce-Bats? I mean, it's pre Red Robin but that just means it could be either....

I'm hope for bruce bats. Even though dick bats would be awesome too.

I think it's clearly implied that it's Bruce-Bats, since Tim didn't really become Red Robin until after Bruce died (I think). Also, the 'especially if you're Tim Drake' implies that Tim, at this point, is Robin, and that pretty much ties it directly to Bruce.

Sort of, we had the "Dead Robin" arc where a serial killer was killing kids after dressing them in Robin costumes (telling them they were up for the job IIRC), but that was to attract Batman's attention.

I think the "Dead Robin" Robins just signed on for modeling gigs rather than for crime-fighting. ("Okay, creepy cameraman like young guys in Kevlar. As long as the money's good... Say, should I really be standing so close to the edge?")

Is there a point to setting this in the past other than to enable Robin!Tim for no reason? Cause man, would this story sound a hell of a lot cooler with Dick and Damian.

Perhaps because at the pre-Red Robin time there was only one Batman and one Robin, now Bruce is looking to open the Bat-Franchise, maybe this will deal if there's a special problem with the notion of having a Robin-Franchise

I love Damien so much, but it will be nice to see some more stories of Tim-Robin as it looks like him returning to that role is a long time away/never happening now...
