But look at Jade's previous lover to Kyle, and it seems like she's got it in for the sensitive dorky types!!

Come, gaze upon a villainness disguising herself as Obsidian's sister to seduce him!
Gaze upon the rivalry between Obsidian and Brainwave Jr.!
And gaze upon Jade having "regular" coloured skin and her adorable romance with Brainwave! SPARKLE AT THEIR TELEPATHIC LOVEY DOVEY COMMUNICATION.

I just thought I'd share some Jade love, since she's one of my fave gals :') And it is sad that she is just known as "Kyle's ex girlfriend" now. Seriously.






The Harlequinn tries to seduce Todd while being disguised as Jade! What does this mean? Well, uh ... you tell me.

Poor Todd, he had his run-ins with strange women before he came out.

But it turns out this trickster gal was on to something -- at least from the outside. Todd appeared to be a bit possessive of his twin sister.





Brainwave Jr. /Hank is probably the most powerful mentalist/telepath in the DCU. He was pretty dearly in love with Jenny Lynn Hayden, and they were each others first loves/sweethearts. Todd never approved.

As usual.



THE TENSION.

The interplay between all three of these guys was absolutely hilarious, as Todd was ready to cockblock at all times. He was the Bea to their Guy and Tora, really.





Remember Brainwave showing up as a VILLAIN in Kyle's GL run? Yes, well, not only did he wipe the floor with Kyle since telepathy is a GL's weakness, but it turns out Hank's telepathic powers drove him insane, and of course, his relationship with Jade ended because of these ch-ch-ch-changes. Alan Scott put him in a mental institution, but he got out! Now, his powers taking over him were relevant because it was why Jade was so uncomfortable with Kyle getting the Ion powers and why she worried so much.





AND LOOK THERE SHE IS WITH NORMAL NOT GREEN SKIN before DC decided to just pretend she always had green skin forever.

Their relationship was very adorable and all three of these guys had such fun banter. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and Infinity Inc became just as red-shirt ridden as the Titans have become.

Brainwave Jr. is now in South America helping kids who are suffering in a drug war :) and is like more lefty than Ollie, but is less sanctimonious about it. It's kind of cute.

Wasn't Brainwave Jr's insanity shown to be the result of Mr Mind living inside his brain?

When did they decide Jade had always been green?

Post-Infinity Inc, Jade kind of never mentions that she's able to NOT be green again. Even in the Green Lantern run, she talked about how she can't keep a secret identity because she's always green. marz and winick also did quite a bit to retcon her background from happy, loving, adoptive parents to a story where she lived in a foster home and an encounter where she was almost molested made her awaken her starheart, when ...yeah, that wasn't how it went.

And that was actually the FIRST time his insanity kind of was showcased! It was towards the end of Infinity Inc, so you are right. But later on, they kind of went the whole "His father was evil, so he will turn evil" route and made his powers go cuckoo.

Oh, oh! You are thinking of Black Reign, right? That came after Hank was already a villain! It was Black Adam's deal with Mr Mind or something, but it explained Hank's "relapse" into villainy. He already had gone bonkers though because of his powers :) he was just the perfect host for mr mind.

I think so, too. I actually OT3d Hank in between them :) and uh, Jade and Obsidian had a special relationship, so it worked all ways anyway.

I hated when Brainwave came back after this in that GL mini and they had Alan Scott say something like he mind-controlled Jade into the relationship.

Yeah, the GL run just had it in for Brainwave because they wanted Kyle/Jade to be TRUE OTP FOREVER so they somehow had to retcon not only Jade's entire past, but uh, Brainwave's entire personality too. He's actually an incredibly compassionate individual. He's just mentally ill, like Todd is. And Alan should understand that.

You're welcome, and I really actually miss this relationship. I wouldn't mind if it got revisited, but that's because I am doomed to love dead and done!Otps, and because Hank is reformed now :(

Kyle says in GREEN LANTERN #155 that Brainwave Jr. is mentally ill because his powers make him believe (with some justification) the whole world is full of hate. I don't know the issue where Brainwave Jr. revealed that to Kyle, though.

Funny thing is... in two of these sets, the male twin is gay. Maybe it's more jealousy that sis has better luck getting men.

I think they all come from troubled homes usually, too. Whether the dude is gay or not, his twin sister is usually the closest relationship he has, and Todd definitely viewed Jade as a saving grace in his life when he escaped his abusive foster family. It makes sense that he'd freak out not only in thinking that most guys aren't good enough for her (Patty and Selma style), but also be threatened at the thought of her being taken from him. I think he mellowed out a bit once he got a boyfriend himself :)

Jade has also been the one who has given Todd unconditional love (even when he went crazy/evil) pretty much from the moment they first met something he never had from his adoptive parents (unlike Jenni who grew up in a happy home) or Alan or his other Infinity Inc. teammates (Albert being the possible exception). It's no wonder he's strongly attached to her.

You now that page where Alan pops in Todd and Damon's room and is going to bring him the news of Jennie's death and they just end the whole thing there... It kind of drove me crazy not knowing what happened next, poor Todd it probably broke him.

And now that she is back he can't even approach her because of the whole Starheart thing.

I must say this is adorable and Infinity Inc. is definitely climbing my 'to read' list. Henry looks like the kind of characte I end up liking, dorky, mental powers who can be a pain in the ass, sweet to his diva.. <3

I'm now fully persuaded meeting Kyle was the worst thing that has ever happened in Jenny's life - like have been put in his book was probably the worst thing that happened to her character.
