I am just so glad they didn't put Trigon on the World Trade Center. Seeing him on the Twin Towers made me physically ill...

I forget which incarnation of the story it was, but when I read it last year it was an unforgettable image.

The loss of the Tower I'm sure to was felt by all of us, especially those like me that lost people that day.

He shrank a bit too, as IIRC he was using the Tower as a throne, rather than a platform in the original.

Kid "I think Nightwing and Robin are the same person?"

Perhaps when one actually sees light eating the edge of reality it's fundamentally obvious what is happening.

I gotta ask: Am I the only one who really liked that iteration of the Doom Patrol? The Celsius/Neg Woman/Tempest one? I mean, I know there's lots of love for the Chief-led team, but I thought Celsius and Val kicked ass.

Not quite, they forgot the precise, horrific details, but recalled that something VERY nasty had happened and that the Titans had saved them (hence the parade they got in NYC).

I never really got COIE, did everyone in the DCU get erased and remade again but with different histories? Did everyone forget the Crisis? What happened to the survivors from other worlds? Did the universe re-start but with the same characters but with slightly different histories?

It'sbeen a while, and "Word Of God" varies, but...

1. Yes, though the amount their histories changed was variable. (The general rule was that "it happened unless we specifically say it didn't happen, but it might not have happened the same way."

2. Most people forgot the exact details of the Crisis, and specifically the existence of the multiverse, but remembered that there had been a Crisis in which the world was in danger and a lot of superheroes no one ever saw before or after showed up. A few people had double sets of memories for a while, and the Psycho-Pirate remembered everything and went (more) mad.

3. They were assimilated one way or another (survivor of a destroyed Earth-like planet, from another dimension, that sort of thing.)

4. Effectively yes, smooshed into one semi-consistent continuity. Superman got his revised history pretty much right away, Wonder Woman shortly thereafter, Batman's piecemeal till Frank Miller's Batman: Year One--Roy Thomas did an entire series about the changes to the Golden Age characters. But Hawkman's reboot didn't happen till years later and managed to royally screw up his history and involvement with the Justice League.

I just noticed. An unfortunate coloring error on Kimiyo's costume made her look like a waitress at a Maid Cafe.

Come to think of it, if she redid her costume to resemble a French maid's, her popularity in her native country would shoot way up.
