Oh fuck yes this cover. Can’t wait till this comes out (though a shame it isn’t a week later, having major Q?-comics out the week of my birthday two years in a row would’ve been amazing)! I would love owning it twice.

Looks like they still have the typo with the issue numbers from the preview they put out on The Source a while back, though. The Batwoman lead ended in #863, but Pipeline ended with #865. I asked Cully Hamner about it on Twitter a few months ago, and he was pretty sure it was a typo, too. the pagecount agrees with with it having the full story.

(and why is Gotham even mentioned in the solicit? the only time they’re in Gotham is when they visit Babs)

Assuming you're referring to Kate Spencer's back-up in the Gotham Streets title, the trade was solicited a while ago and is coming out in November. I'm on my phone, so I can't link to it, but a quick search for Manhunter on amazon should bring it up fairly quickly.

And if you were referring to something else, just ignore me. I said nothing.

Is Renee in Hub City the rest of the time? I'm behind on my Question continuity.

Nee's only been to Hub once, in Crime Bible #4. She and Tot work out of a lighthouse Vic left for them on the outer coast of North Carolina.

Oh, really? Damn. I had in my head that Hub was her base of operations now (I'm writing a Ralph and Sue Dibny fan comic set there and want to put her in it). I guess if Renee's been there at all I guess that must at least mean it exists on New Earth and not just Earth-4 :-S

Well sure! Vic still spent the entirety of his solo title there, after all. We've really gotten little more than glimpses into Earth-4 at this point, so we don't even know if it uses the Charlton cities or not (back then Hub was Blue Beetle's city, Question operated out of Crown City. it wasn't till they moved to DC that they were swapped with Chicago and Hub, respectively)!

But then, Earth-4's just as much Watchmen as it is Charlton, so there's no telling how the setup is there.

Damn, I want that long-mooted "Watchmen with the Charlton characters" business to happen, only I want them to do it with the modern inheritors of the respective mantles. Jaime and Renee reinterpreting Nite Owl and Rorschach would make my damn day.

What can I say? I know my Questions!

It would be all kinds of amazing to see Jaime and Nee reimagined for Earth-4, but I think Morrison is on record saying something like "If you like Vic Sage, you can read about him on Earth-4." And, come to think of it, the Blue Beetle we saw in the glimpse at the end of 52 looked a lot like Dan Garrett, which would make me sad.

So far, the most we've seen is the Captain Atom/Doctor Manhattan hybrid in Superman Beyond, but maybe there'll be more if and when Multiversity ever comes out.

There was also a Captain Atom and Nightshade from Earth-4 in Countdown: Arena, but well, you know what they say about Countdown.

It's been long enough since the end of 52 that I kind of suspect Morrison's wishes about the "megaverse" aren't gonna pan out anyway, but here's hoping. Ted's my first love but I'll take whatever Beetles I can get so long as they're blue and badass.

Umm.... why does Renee have short, curly blonde hair on the cover?

I think it's because the binary gas and special shampoo that works in conjunction with it changes the color. Using it again takes off the mask and makes the hair go back to normal. A plus when you're going for anominity; no face and a different hair color makes it harder for people to guess your identity.

You mean 'Tec #867? No, she had blonde hair in that. The only reason I said "nearly" is because Green Lantern #56, when she's with Saint Walker, got it wrong and left it long and brown.

I think it depends if you call the hair in the post you linked me to "blonde", I don't, it's a paler brown, but it's still brown, and not the straw blonde seen here.

I think they might've changed colorists early in the run, and the hair shifted a bit with that. It's mostly notable blonde rather than a lightish brown in the fourth issue.

Wasn't how she could tell it was Nightwing, she's just smart like that (you can't really see anything with that cape anyway). Was how Bullock could tell it was her.
And it's the next 'Tec annual. I'm a little apprehensive because Hine's stuff on 'Tec so far has been kinda...awful.

I just finished reading the O'Neil series. I now love the Question. I'll be looking into this. BTW i also love Gotham Central, so that's a plus as well.
