She goes from Mon-El (one of the noblest, nicest heroes in the DCU) to THAT (a character I was sick of like yesterday who's "redemption" I could care less about)? Oh, Shady.

As for the other. Yeah, so now we know why Slade recruited Roy and Cheshire - so he could get his rocks off. Wonderful to know the craptastic descent of Roy Harper continues (and I'm not a huge fan of the character). Thanks, DC!

Im wondering what in god's name went through Paul Levitz mind to try and "redeem" (or at least appear to be trying to redeem) earth man? He was a xenophobic, pathetic, murderous Nazi stand in during Superman and the LoSH and was a member of a group made up of the Legion's worst enemies that KILLED Rond Vidar. How can really sell his redemption when he embodies some of the worst traits in a villain?

I liked Shady in the other Legion series...soooo this version...yeaaa...-_-.. Welp there goes my respect points.

I'm a big Roy Harper fan..minus the crap DC's been shelling out the past few months..and trust me..Roy's fuck scene there is not the worst part of the issue in question. It's like DC wants to remain stubborn when they could just easily fix it. As for Slade..let's be honest he's a dirty old man.

I haven't gotten a chance to read this yet, but...that is very interesting. Great moral dilemma--on one hand, you are basically brainwashing someone's mind, but on the other hand, it's because he was a massively xenophobic super-villain.

I wonder, though, if being with Shadow Lass is part of the altering of behavior. It's very possible that he just thought she was hot.

I could get behind a Roy/Rose relationship, though! She did used to babysit Lian and she was understanding of his situation. And I'm sure they both have reasons to hate Slade.

Bruce and any of the Robins squicks me out big time though: the adult/child implications, power imbalance, also he's often their adopted (or in one case biological) father.... So just .... :/

Re Legion page: Called it. And I'm sticking with the same theory. Shady breaks up with Mon and all we get is a throwaway line after the fact? No way Levitz wouldn't've milked a real breakup for several issues of drama.

That's great, but I've got this quaint idea of reading comics for the characters and stories. Pretty art helps, but I O.D.'d on "MOST SHOCKING MOMENT OF THEM ALL" in the late 1960s. Now? It's more like Colorforms. Or Mad-Libs. "Let's put together two characters that have never been put together before iiiiinnn... this situation! Hah? Hah? C'MON, you ungrateful scamps! Like our shit!"
