Firstly, the Wonder Woman news, where it has been alleged that the former showrunner of Ally McBeal ans Boston Legal will be heading the potential program,
http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/10/wonder-woman-tv-show.html

And here is the Snyder Movie news from here, not sure if it's real yet though,
http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/zack-snyder-directing-superman/

For legality, here's a nice picture of my favourite versions of Diana and Clark,

I know why Snyder would do it; I just can't figure out why Nolan would let him.

Who wants to bet that Superman punches someone so fast we have to watch it in bullet-time?

Is that alleged legality?

I would typically say no to Snyder based on Watchmen, which hit the high notes but was still a muddled enough mess that I don't really care for it; however, with Nolan as EP, I think they might be able to pull it off.

Snyder, huh? Well, we can at least know it won't make the same mistakes Superman Returns did. It might make an entirely different set of mistakes, granted, but we know it won't make the same ones.

Also, has anyone seen that Guardians owl movie? How was it? That might give an indication of what a lighter, cheerier Snyder production might be like.

One of the instructors in my college's animation program (which I'm in, but not in the digital specialization) worked on the film, so the digital students got free preview passes. They all said it was definitely worth watching, although the story wasn't without problems.

Really well done, and yes...it was gorgeous. It's not a kiddie movie, quite alot of violence. I really enjoyed it.

I don't mind a WW TV show (though the budget will probably preclude big super-hero scenes) but with David E. Kelley? A guy known exclusively for quirkly, flighty characters (or conversely, often on the same show, all too serious pretentious characters) who do nothing but talk and talk and talk and talk, often with lots of lame sex jokes and straw man politics? In a show about Wonder Woman? How does that work?

As for Zach Snyder he has an interesting visual style. But the real test will be the script and the casting (that was the problem with Superman Returns not Singer's direction).

Hey, if M. Night Shyamalan can go outside his genre to direct an action film, well...

M. Night is REALLY not a good example to use, considering his ongoing career nosedive....

For Wonder Woman, I think a lot will depend on what the concept is, who's scripting it and what the budget it.

I'm not hopeful, tho.

Wonder Woman TV show would sound cool...were it not for Kelley. I've never seen anything from him I liked, and everything he's done just about screams the exact opposite of Wonder Woman.

As for Snyder...I don't hate him (in fact, I actually really enjoyed his take on Watchmen), but he definitely wasn't my first choice--one of the rumored directors was Darren Aranofsky, which I was rooting for--but considering Nolan chose him and hasn't done me wrong yet, I'm more than willing to give this a shot.

Personally, I think Snyder could potentially do a pretty good job on 'Superman'. He seems to really love and have respect for comics, and while his version of 'Watchmen' was mixed, that was kind of to be expected - it was WATCHMEN, for cryin' out loud; there was no way anyone was going to get it exactly right. At least he made a fairly respectable stab at it, and there were some good and memorable moments in it. A Superman movie might give him more leeway, since he's got decades worth of material to work with.
And I'm really kind of amazed that it's taken this long for someone to put another live-action Wonder Woman show into production. I mean, the first one was a smash hit.

Snyder for Superman?

I must say, it's made me interested. Never liked 300 much, but I thought his first ten minutes of Watchmen was genius (the sound track, and how he retold the story in an effective sort of AU). If Snyder could just have some sort of discipline, I think he'd be gold.

I'm cautiously looking forward to the WW TV series. Television doesn't really offer the chance for spectacle that film does, but what it loses in spectacle it more than makes up for in terms of potential character development. That makes me excited.

Of course, there's plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong, hence my caution.

Both of these projects have been in Developmental Hell for ages. I won't bother passing judgment on them till we actually see something.
