It's the distaff side of the enternal comic book question rivalry of Bat vs. Super. Remember this not about physical prowess, it's about attitude, smarts, i.e. the whole package.

In one corner a woman who currently has no book (or costume), but whose fierce fighting and big heart has her fans clamoring for her return to the pages of comics ...

Cassandra Cain!

And in the other corner a super powered woman from Krypton who works, like her cousin, for good. And occasionally brings in support from animals. The adorably feisty ...

Supergirl

Should I point out here how much I loathe Cassandra's powers?

I always really dislike "normal" (although they aren't really normal, they're far superhuman) characters who can do such ridicilious stuff. At least Iron Fist can say "Hey, Magic Dragon Blood!" It's one of the things that really, really annoys me.

Powers?

I think of it as an enhancement of a human's natural abilities while flying and laser eyes, well, isn't. She was only raised to kill, after all, so such a narrow focus would create such an undiluted talent.

But she does things that are supposed to be impossible, like breaking through Kon's tactile TK shield due to her "sensing the weakness in the shield." His unbreakable TK shield, while he was concentrating.

Normally it didn't bother me, but stuff like that made me mad. And that time she purged herself of poison due to bad-assitude. Stuff like that.

It's a shame and a crime that's she's fictional,
Doing kinds of stuff she couldn't were she real,
Poking holes in Kon's shield and a toxic purge,
It ruffles your feathers and it gives you the urge...
To drop the book, stop reading, start hatin',
Cuz those powers she got be all exaggeratin'!
Normal people can dodge bullets like she do,
They'd get shot for reals and die in a bloody pool.
So thuck fat kind of shit that Cass does in them tales,
People lackin super-powers gots to acts all for reals!

Ok, I can understand those examples, but its comic books, everything's exaggerated. Now, physical strength and agility based on training, that can buy, and do.

Cass was bitten by a radioactive Charles Atlas.

Would be handwave enough for me.

I know it's arbitrary, "unlocking your hdden potential by training REALLY HARD" is no stranger than getting bitten by radioactiv fauna, but somehow in my head there's a differene and I can't get past it.
