Today's match is between two women who served together in the JLA and took similar paths to get there. One is a legacy character who has bumped around many teams. The other a newer character who has bumped around many teams. Sadly only one is currently being utilized by DC. You can vote here.

I adore Dinah but I have to say VIXEN.

Mari has a lot of potential and a nice versatility but most of all she's never been a love interest of Oliver Queen.

As you all know Oliver is MINE and no other may have him.

Mari has had relationships, but she's never been defined by them (for better or worse) the way Dinah has been, but Dinah is more determined I think.

I think I have to call this one a draw.

This is truly a tough one. My initial impulse is for the Bird of Prey, but the more I think about it, the more I recall all of Dinah's bad stories, and all of Mari's good ones. Plus, she was in Suicide Squad.

I think Vixen mostly because I think everyone knows how badass BC is and she's been at the forefront of the DCU for several years now (even during the regrettable BC/GA run). Vixen meanwhile who was holding together the JLA single-handily (I think she was the last remaining member of the Meltzer reboot to leave) was kicked off by Robinson and has been exiled to comic limbo - which considering that she is DC's most prominent black female character is a sad commentary - especially coupled with the fact that numerous white blondes such as Power Girl, Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Black Canary (albeit her hair is dyed), Lady Blackhawk, Stargirl all currently have starring roles in ongoing DC titles.

Seeing as most of my memories of this Black Canary and Vixen involve the Justice League: Unlimited cartoon and comic, Imma gonna say Black Canary.

I had such a hard time deciding this one today. @_@

Ultimately I went with Vixen. I absolutely adore Dinah, buuuuut... she has been in a lot of terrible stories, and not a lot of people seem to have a good grip on her character. Vixen, I think, has been a wee bit more consistent.

Gotta go with Vixen. Awesome powers and the writers have had a good grip on her character. Plus before she was banished to parts unknown, she was in some fairly interesting stories. I liked her mini.

I love Black Canary (especially when Simone uses her) but outside Birds of Prey, the characterization has been crap. I hated her during Blackest Night. She was this whining simpering gal who could only scream really loud when confronted by Green Arrow.

MY love for Vixen has grown..while my love for Dinah has..kinda hit a road block in light of the year's events..hmmm..Dinah.

I like both characters, but I'm going with Vixen here. Black Canary has been somewhat overused of late, and her level of badassery has... well, varied over the years, let's put it that way. I still think she's cool, but she could use a lower profile for a while, so that her badass-levels can rise again. Vixen, on the other hand, has ALWAYS been badass, so far as I can figure, and has the distinct advantages of 1: being a prominent black character, which is good, and there never (that I'm aware of) being any particular issues or problems with her being black, which is better; 2: Being of African background, somewhat of a rarity in comics, 3: having cool powers, and 4: not to be too shallow here, but being GORGEOUS. I mean, look at her in that page above. Has she not set a few of your hearts a-patterin'? She can pull off being gorgeous and ass-kickin' in a long dress, too, which not everyone can do. Dinah will always rule a certain fishnet-patterned area of my heart (she shares it with Zatanna), but Vixen is peachy-keen, and she gets my vote here. Rock on, badass animal lady!
