Loeb and Sale Bat/Cat
Apr. 28th, 2009 10:18 amOh you knew it was coming. From The Long Halloween and Dark Victory

Some of their many fabulous moments...
And trust me, it's worth it coz Sale draws a gorgeous Selina and a handsome Bruce...
Long Halloween
(10 scans from the two GNs, which are more than 100 pages each)

Bats is thanking Selina for saving him/Bruce from Ivy's clutches.

Whatever you have to say about Loeb, you can't deny he writes some dayum good Bat/Cat scenes. Much love.
From Dark Victory, the sequel to The Long Halloween.

This reminds me of the scene from Batman '89 where Bruce and Vicki Vale are sitting at the ginormous table and Vicki yells... "Could you pass the SALT??!"

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH ALFRED!!!

Date: 2009-04-28 09:42 am (UTC)I believe what I've heard is it's worse than hamster puke and/or Hush Returns. Which is pretty bad.

Date: 2009-04-28 09:48 am (UTC)Exactly what I was thinking. Followed by "You wanna get out of here?"
Well, if Loeb must crib ideas from other Bat-stories (as he did in this arc from the Two-Face classic "Eye of the Beholder) then that was a nice one to crib.

Date: 2009-04-28 02:36 pm (UTC)What I was talking about is people who jab a fork into your plate and take a huge gob of food, without asking, while you're still eating, and in some cases when you've just gotten your food and were just about to dig in. I've known people like that and yes, they usually do it with a big "Lookit me, isn't this cute" grin on their face. That isn't cute; it's rude. No, they're not "bad" people, just individuals who perhaps were never corrected when they picked up that habit.

Date: 2009-04-28 02:04 pm (UTC)You'd probably love it then. It really is quite a good story. (It's the continuation of TLH)

Date: 2009-04-28 02:12 pm (UTC)Tho, I tend to think the people who don't like TLH or Hush are in the minority. They've both made IGN's list of the 25 Greatest Batman Graphic Novels.

Date: 2009-04-28 01:31 pm (UTC)Srsly about the muffins, too. She might shut the door on Bruce, but the muffins? Heeelllz no.

Date: 2009-04-28 02:33 pm (UTC)But...it's good. Now I'm starting to regret not listening to my comic book dealer when he told me to buy it.
Again...Loeb? The Loeb who did "Ultimates" 3?

Date: 2009-04-28 02:55 pm (UTC)But the rest of these books are, by and large, ridden with plot holes, one-note characterizations, ridiculous leaps in logic, and headdeskingly cliched dialogue.
Plus, if you take a sip of beer for every ellipsis Loeb throws in there, you'll be dead of alcohol poisoning by chapter six.
