This is from Justice League: Generation Lost #12 by Judd Winick and Fernando Dagnino.




Later, Tora uses her powers in front of Marius's father, the head of the clan. Though he doesn't see her, Marius and Elsa decide to run away with Tora.

Several years later, Marius's father catches up with them.


As the men attack Marius and try taking Tora away, he tells her to "make it colder than you ever have before" and "freeze it all!"

Oh my god. What. What. Doesn't this guy know that one of the only non-offensively portrayed Roma in comics (and other media) is Dick Grayson and that's because nobody even remembers (except Devin Grayson and I think Grant Morrison). FFF, yes it's offensive when that stupid stereotype is the only one going around! IDK, this is especially sad with the whole "Deport Roma!" debate going on in Europe right now. :/

Yeah, it's particularly troubling when you think of what's going on in Europe right now ... or at least what's being covered right now. When we get into the ghettoization of their housing discrimination, the sterilization of Roma women without their consent, etc. euughh. BUT IT IS OKAY BECAUSE MY FRIEND FROM EUROPE LIKE TOTALLY HATES THEM AND THAT IS WHY .. THEIR WORD SHOULD BE TRUSTED, BECAUSE THEY KNOW ALL ROMA AND HATE THEM, YEAH...

That being said I really wish Dick's Roma heritage was played up more :( at least in flashbacks!

You're not the only one! I always :( when it doesn't get a mention when they're showing a kid/teen!Dick flashback. It couldn't come soon enough for me, so I just made up flashback stories for myself. XD
