Later, Tora uses her powers in front of Marius's father, the head of the clan. Though he doesn't see her, Marius and Elsa decide to run away with Tora.

Several years later, Marius's father catches up with them.


As the men attack Marius and try taking Tora away, he tells her to "make it colder than you ever have before" and "freeze it all!"

You know what I'm really reminded of when I read this? The terrible novel and movie Thinner by Stephen King. Talk about bad, racist stereotypes.
