No, it doesn't. Lizard's new power shuts down the thinking part of the brain and makes people act on basic instinct. The rape part is admittedly an small aspect of his power, and it's an unfortunate part that probably didn't need to be there. But it is NOT the new defining characteristic of the Lizard, like you seem to be making it out to be.

Also, it has nothing to do with vision.

It was a grand finale to Brand New Day, not The Gauntlet. The Gauntlet already had a finale of sorts in the Grim Hunt story line, where the masterminds behind much of the revamps were confronted. Besides, this story wasn't so much a conclusion as it was a recap; it was saying "this is what has happened to these characters recently, and this is where they are now."

And except for the death part, that press release is totally accurate.
