I like Cassie and Kon but when it sounded like they were splitting up I was all "8D nodramaplease nodramaplease nodramaplease <3" I liked how Kon is being written though, with Cassie, I thought it was cute and made me laugh but I think it seemed more Friendship-y then boyfriend and girlfriend-y.

I love Cassie and Kon, too! Together, I mean. Separately, I kind of only like Cassie. I did love Kon a whole ton back in his Superboy run, but I assume most of that has been retconned out -- I miss his old build, the nerdy jacket, Tana Moon, all of it. I think Kon/Cassie could and can be a very realistic portrayal of two adolescents that love each other a whole bunch and have very intense emotions for one another, but life's difficulties make it hard for them to function well as a couple. They are stressed, live busy lives, don't get enough privacy in Titans Tower, and don't get to interact under situations that would allow them calmer conflict resolution. Kon is immature when it comes to how he looks at women (honestly, it reminds me of Wally West's old days, or Kyle Rayner -- I think he'll grow out of it), while Cassie is understandably frustrated with the need to constantly assert herself as a leader when Kon is around. This is ripe for GOOD romantic conflict, conflict that, if not milked and wrung, could avoid being so overwrought that it makes the audience sick of them but also gives beautiful insight and commentary on human relations and growing up.

But you know, none of that will happen so I hope Cassie keys Kon's car soon.

I guess I keep holding onto the fact that this is the Titans, and if the two of them don't break up soon it'll be so horrible and messy and dramatic that they'll never be friends again. But I guess seeing them in this, and you do have a point, and with Krul who does seem to get them, maybe it wouldn't end so horrible. But I'm an abused Titan fan used to melodramatic writers so I'm still kind of iffy xD I just want them to be friends eventually.

It does seem like when she gets a chance Cassie is going to break up with him though. Of course she might get distracted so who knows when that'll be.

Yeah, a lot of people thought Kon was going to cheat on Cassie, but I think Cassie is going to dump Kon, he will try to pursue another teammate (a new girl? A girl in his own series? Rose???) to nurse his loneliness and bruised ego (and maybe has genuine chemistry with the girl too). And I think Cassie will get all mopey and sad and regretful, but I don't see her making a big deal of it other than being huffy and solemn in its presence.

I can see where both are coming from in this equation. I might be the only person who is looking at this couple, though, and just seeing it as a product of their youth and their intense feelings, and the environment they work in. I honestly think they can work it out, get back together... or, you know, maybe they never will, and I wouldn't mind them just being ex girlfriend/boyfriend after while carrying a torch, because as terribly as that trope is often written in comics, it's a fictional happy button for me.

I think it goes like this: Cassie is more emotionally mature than Kon, but Kon is better at just enjoying life than Cassie. Probably has to do with the nature of his life, death and resurrection.

I honestly do trust JT Krul to write them with some nuance and maybe even have their little break just be something to overcome and get them together as a happy couple in the long haul. I'd like them as one of those rare examples of young love that transitions into adult love well and leads to a young marriage. (>_> Unless he's planning on making rose/cassie canon.. I HOPE)

Which leads me to hoping that any future fight they have after a potential breakup is written with the DELICATE CARE that he wrote Roy's confrontation with Donna at Lian's funeral.

I guess it goes to the thing where people rarely if ever end up with the person they fell in love with when they were teenagers. I know Cassie and Kon have talked about this when she was all like "I don't want to be your Lana Lang" or whatever and someone pointed out Tana would have been his Lana and I don't know I don't actually get that feeling. I think it would be great if they got married and were happy but that isn't going to happen because comics don't like happy married super couples. So I guess that's why I want them to break up and be friends. But they do fit well together I think. Aw they'll always be an otp of mine.

Will Cassie be the one to say Kon was whoring around space (or whatever)?

:D They will always be one of mine too. BREAKING UP NEVER STOPS ME. But yes, I think they'd make very cute friends also ♥ I'd rather have them either be that or just happy and together because the constant drama thing does not look good on them :|
