As New Female Characters week continues, I bring the best new superhero to hit NYC - Trouble. Buy her arc Dirty Tricks. Also, if you will be triggered by 9-11 and women being punched in the face, don't look at this.
She stops to help a blind man, crushes under a fallen street lamp.
Yes, I teared up a bit at that.
If you're coming to this late and wondering what all of the comments are about... I've edited this post to make it less offensive.

Date: 2010-11-04 07:22 am (UTC)The middle of her arc, where she takes up political vandalism is, because I went backwards and forwards on if I supported her or not.
I guess that the moral of this story is "Don't try to get a post together as quickly as you can".

Date: 2010-11-04 04:54 pm (UTC)As it stands this isn't appropriate for Awesome New Female Characters week in a feminist community - girl is introduced, girl is punched, you laugh. Come on. Put yourself in other members' shoes here.

Date: 2010-11-04 07:08 am (UTC)There's a progressive editing issue with this.
I originally wrote "don't like" (too flippantly, but not lolzy), and Angelophile called me on it.
I didn't want to get rid of it, as I wanted to show that a change had been made to rephrase it.
Now it looks like it comes off even worse.
Would you rather that I just made it a straight up trigger warning?

Date: 2010-11-04 01:58 pm (UTC)You could throw in a "edited for clarity/because I was called on my flippant wording" at the end of the paragraph.

That? Is a really gross comment to make. You posted a scene of a woman getting punched by a man, acknowledged it as triggering, and then talked about how hard it made you laugh. Do you have any idea how sexist and creepy that comment was? How hurtful and offensive? It was inappropriate for a theme event meant to celebrate and highlight awesome female characters, and it's ABSOLUTELY inappropriate for a community created to be a female-friendly space. Totally skeevy.
Mod note: Warning
Date: 2010-11-05 04:12 am (UTC)We've also had the issue lately where you've taken a flippant and disrespectful attitude toward other members over trivial things that really don't call for it. Please be more considerate of your fellow members as you contribute to this community, and don't talk down to them. The condescension is unnecessary.
This is your FIRST OFFICIAL WARNING. Please note that if you receive two further warnings you will lose the ability to post on this community.
