So if I've read this correctly, the ring just bitched out Boston both for trying to foist it on Batman and for not accepting it himself. And it basically called him a self-centered ass?

Though honestly it seems like it would be the best ring to have. It actually gives advice and tells you like it is, and has conversations and it's all like "Boston, wtf are you doing" like fifty times a day. It's my favorite ring.

It is the best sidekick ever, all the other rings are losers compared to it. Though actually it is kind of a jerk I mean it did teleport Boston in front of the anit-monitor and was all like "fight" and then it was like "lol just kidding" (well not really but kind of). I love you white lantern ring, none of the others are as snarky.

Scans please! I can't help but think that the White Ring is like the Greek Pantheon (except without all the sexual hijinks) in that it delights in messing with people's lives just for ha-ha's.

From what I've seen, the ring appears to be kind of an ass. It keeps playing the 'I am a center of profound wisdom, but I can't give a straight FUCKING ANSWER because then we would resolve the plot in five issues, not twenty-six.' It appears to be a profoundly terrible teacher, if it's goal is to teach Boston Brand responsibility and so forth. If the ring had just said 'No, it's not Batman. The chosen will come to you'...well, we wouldn't have had an issue or a White Lantern Batman with variant cover, right?

In fact, given how badly Brand has been screwed with by higher powers, I don't know why the ring is surprised that Brand wants to be rid of it.
