I have to admit, now that the two of them have workout out their unique fighting style, it's nice to see that the only thing that the dynamic duo have to worry about it their banter.

A fun "Batman" title, indeed.

A confession: It is still hard to think of Dick as The Batman, a few years in.

Heh.. I remember going to a couple weddings when I was a little kid, and thinking hard when the minister asked that question so I might have something useful to add. :p It's probably a good thing I had quick parents. Wonder which one's doing a bigger spread for turkey day?

Finally! An artist that suits Damian and Dick's kinetic fighting styles. Say what you want about McDaniel's style but he knows how to draw a boldly fluid action scene.

Still wish Quitely was illustrating, but this is a better substitute.

I always envision superheroes randomly crashing into boring events. For example, when I get bored during a never-ending lecture, I imagine Nightwing suddenly crashing through the window, a villain in hot pursuit. The duo crashing a wedding would of course take the cake. In a good way.

I'm actually not a big fan of McDaniel's art or the style. I also am wondering why they changed the writer/artist team on this. Originally, it was supposed to be Pete Tomasi and now it's Paul Cornell.

They explained that a while back, Tomasi is focussing on finishing a couple of existing commitments, then comes on board in two issues time.

It's basically giving them some lead time so they can focus some more on Brightest Day.

This. I think the colorist deserves some credit here. I usually cringe the moment I see some of McDaniel's art, but here I had to check to make sure it was him.

Kinda. Bruce will go around the world with the whole Batman Inc. Dick will stay in Gotham.

Dick and Damian are remaining as Gotham's Batman and Robin (and Dick will be the JLA's Batman), Bruce will be heading up the international division of Batman Inc.

It's interesting that Damian actually seems vaguely disturbed at the notion that this crimefighting gig might actually be enjoyable. 'No! It is supposed to be a glorious struggle, fraught with difficulty and agony for the glory of my Dad! It's supposed to be a long, hard road with only the bitter satisfaction of having gone through a metaphorical meat-grinder and survived awaiting me at the end! I'm not supposed to be having a good time! This is FUN! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!'

Dick is a great first friend, because he's a sweetheart and well-used to batsulky drama. But he's also a terrible first friend, because What Is This Thing You Call Friendship + inevitable jealousy toward your best friend's other friends + Dick is friends with everybody ever = MEGA BABYBATSULK.
