A man is taken by guides to the former secret home of the Inhumans in the Himalayas. He kills his guides and finds a strange power source hidden in the walls of the old palace.



He makes a wish and is transported to the Baxter Building. He wishes the alarms to not sound. He wishes Reed Richards to continue sleeping. He wishes the Thing somewhere else. He wishes the door with the giant lock to open.



Elsewhere, Iron Man and Thor have tracked Wonder Man's power signature. He seems to be leaking and Tony expresses concern. Wonder Man reviles them and blames the Avengers for every death that has occurred. Then he vanishes.

2). Does anyone else feel reminded by Annie of the latest appearance of Princess Tinyfeet in Venture Bros.? In that the ambiguous silence and blank stare could imply she's actually there against her will?

@2: Nah they were shown to be a couple before (might be a different girl though but I doubt it). I'm pretty sure she is indeed just too shocked to speak in front of the Avengers.

If it's the same girl Noh was shown with at the end of Ms. Marvel in a backup story she can definitely talk. She's just genuinely unable to grasp any words around the heroes.

1. When did Hood get out of prison?

2. Didn't the Inhumans take Attilan WITH THEM? You'd think Black Bolt wouldn't leave an Infinity Gem behind. It's not like leaving a light on.

3. Bets on Bendis forgetting/ignoring that the Gems don't actually WORK together anymore (thanks to the Tribunal)?

4. Red powerhouse villain, beaten to a pulp, crashes through a window, and can only murmur one word... Bendis is cribbing from Lobdell now?

Oh thaaat's who it is. I thought this was an antirely new Bendis-villain, like the Postman who made up the Collective.

Doesn't help that JR jr. isn't drawing him as we knew him.

Plus, it takes away from the story. Before I was enthusiastic about some foolhardy innocent who's always wanted to find the Gems gone mad with power. Now it's just same old same old.

Apparently he's getting out of prison in upcoming issues of Avengers Academy.

I believe they did. I may be wrong here but I believe it was the Skrull Impersonating Black Bolt that hid the Infinity gem he got so I guess the real one had an excuse for not knowing it was there. I thought that Black Bolt ended up getting the Space Gem though and Tony got Reality.

Looking it up, he did. But paying attention to continuity (even his own) was never Bendis' strong suit.

If I'm remembering right from the solicits and interviews and such, the Avengers Academy kids are going after the Hood after the tape of him attacking Tigra gets out and he gets out because of that.

Also, if it was as simple as 'acquire Reality gem. Make wishes,' why didn't the Illuminati do that in the first place, rather than spend an issue making elaborate gadgets and visiting the collective unconscious?

Changing reality requires and incredibly STRONG grasp on "actual" reality, and humans really aren't designed to cope with that much cosmic-ness as a matter of course (Which makes the whole Illuminati thing even more preposterous)

The reality gem was the second to last one they acquired, iirc. Once they had that the time gem just appeared in front of them so maybe they did unconsciously 'make a wish' to find it.

I'd heard that without the other five stones around to balance out the reality stone it can seriously mess up the entire universe. It's the one gem you're NOT supposed to use alone.

Yeah, that was the reason Infinity Watch gave the thing to Thanos. He was smart enough to know that he couldn't use it properly. I guess we're supposed to think the Hood has better control over cosmic powers then Thanos.

option B is that he DOESN'T and just isn't smart enough to keep from using it. Or he doesn't know and reality breaking down will happen later.

Although he does use the gem to wish another into his hand, I REALLY hope this gem thing ends up backfiring on him in the end. I just don't see him as Thanos level.

I found Spider-Woman saying that she hasn't had a date in three years pretty funny--I mean, it makes sense, being held in captivity by the Skrulls, having an alien impersonate you so as to take over the world, and after all that's over becoming an agent of a secret government agency to track down rogue aliens would probably be HELL on a girl's love life.

I like the "This is my girlfriend" panel, where everyone is interacting. Kinda cute. And I want Thor`s sandwich!

But all things aside, what is up with Spider-Woman`s hair? It`s like she stepped out of the hair dresser prematurely XD (which, with her hero life and all, would be a good explanation).

I know that the Hood getting Infinity Gems after having a demonic cloak (although that was slowly corrupting him and turning him into Dorm's little pet) and Asgardian Norn Gems is bad writing but here's the thing: Iron Man's talking on a cellphone, you know Tony Stark? The guy who invents anything as long as he has transistors (1950-1980) or whatever Deus Ex Machina he asspulls. IRON MAN NEEDS A CELLPHONE!?! He's wearing "The Bleeding Edge!" It's more cutting edge than "The Cutting Edge"! Who writes this crap!?!

I keep looking at that thing and going...its 1980s size! And what the hell does he need to have one anyway, what with being in his armor!

That said, the art in this is fantastic. There's a real sense of "I composed this frame! And this one, and this one!"

I think the colourist deserves a hearty handshake too, especially on the bridge scene and the Red Hulk panels.
