A man is taken by guides to the former secret home of the Inhumans in the Himalayas. He kills his guides and finds a strange power source hidden in the walls of the old palace.



He makes a wish and is transported to the Baxter Building. He wishes the alarms to not sound. He wishes Reed Richards to continue sleeping. He wishes the Thing somewhere else. He wishes the door with the giant lock to open.



Elsewhere, Iron Man and Thor have tracked Wonder Man's power signature. He seems to be leaking and Tony expresses concern. Wonder Man reviles them and blames the Avengers for every death that has occurred. Then he vanishes.

Also, if it was as simple as 'acquire Reality gem. Make wishes,' why didn't the Illuminati do that in the first place, rather than spend an issue making elaborate gadgets and visiting the collective unconscious?

Also the art is fug. And bah.

Because supposedly using the gems like that is a slippery slope and one little wish here leads to bigger ones later and what not.

Changing reality requires and incredibly STRONG grasp on "actual" reality, and humans really aren't designed to cope with that much cosmic-ness as a matter of course (Which makes the whole Illuminati thing even more preposterous)

The reality gem was the second to last one they acquired, iirc. Once they had that the time gem just appeared in front of them so maybe they did unconsciously 'make a wish' to find it.

I'd heard that without the other five stones around to balance out the reality stone it can seriously mess up the entire universe. It's the one gem you're NOT supposed to use alone.

Yeah, that was the reason Infinity Watch gave the thing to Thanos. He was smart enough to know that he couldn't use it properly. I guess we're supposed to think the Hood has better control over cosmic powers then Thanos.

option B is that he DOESN'T and just isn't smart enough to keep from using it. Or he doesn't know and reality breaking down will happen later.

Although he does use the gem to wish another into his hand, I REALLY hope this gem thing ends up backfiring on him in the end. I just don't see him as Thanos level.
