Hmm. Dan Slott taking a few pages from the Dan DiDio playbook. Let's see...

Because Dan Slott hates you, that's why.

Doesn't feel quite right. Also, Dan Slott is a major continuity geek, which is the appeal of a LOT of his stories (especially in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE). His stories often are done to APPEAL to comic book fans, not to aggravate them and/or metaphorically give them the middle finger.
