Iron Man vs. the Red Hulk!

Flashback to the climactic end of Fall of the Hulks:

(Red Hulk was General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, for those who were living in a cave)


The end mirrors the end of World War Hulk, with Hulk and Steve Rogers coming to see Rulk in prison:



The prison was designed by Bruce Banner. Rulk is left in a zero-gravity chamber for three days, screaming and yelling that he knows he's too powerful to be left to rot.



Steve demands Rulk power down to human form. Then he hits him with a hypo.



Bruce says that he already beat Rulk at his full power. He doesn't need an edge against Ross. They glare at each other.



Bruce explains that the Intelligencia activated a program called "Scorched Earth". Doomsday weapons to destroy the world if they couldn't rule it. Steve says that he doesn't trust Rulk and that he'll be partnering up til Ross earns his trust again.

Since the first mission is some sort of make-people-robot-monsters (much like Omac) virus in Silicon Valley, Rulk will be working with Iron Man. Rulk arrives first.

Tony then gets smacked by the computer virus possessed people.

Rulk manages to convince Tony that he was, indeed, sent by Steve Rogers.



For the record, except for a few intensely stupid issues, I actually enjoyed Fall of the Hulks.

Funny thing how Ross was always after Hulk, and now almost everyone dislikes Red Hulk even more.

The Hulk was always clearly angry..or stupid. And he had a history of avoiding killing, despite all the damage he caused. He also saved people many times.

Red Hulk murdered a SHIELD agent and (most believe) murdered General Ross too. He humiliated beloved heroes. He was working for murderous supervillains. He went on national television and declared he was taking over the country. He did all this knowingly, willingly, and in full possession of his senses.

If Rulk revealed his true identity now? Despite his honorable career, he WOULD be hung for treason.

Hung for treason? Shit, he'll suffer worst. He'll go down in history as the giant hypocrit that he is as well as one of America's greatest enemies. He'll be a huge disgrace the likes of which would have people vandalizing his grave and villainizing him in biopics. Alos, let's not forget Betty.

Have to say, I have minimal knowledge of the Red Hulk, and even less interest, but I'm unimpressed by Steve and Tony's complete failure to communicate, Tony drops a call from Steve? Really? Doesn't matter it's the start of a mission, end of a mission, or when you're having the best sex of your life... when STEVE ROGERS calls you, YOU PICK UP!

People tend to develop poor hearing when it comes to beating the hell out of Rulk.

I have to hand it to Marvel, they made Rulkie so wonderfully hateable that I can't help but love these comics where he's getting his ass kicked every issue.

Contextually, it's not that Tony deliberately dropped the call. It's that he's closing in on an area that's putting off heavy electromagnetic interference and it meant Steve's call didn't quite get through. He didn't actually hang up on Steve.

The hair on his face is rooted back in his lips, and it's alot fleshier than his scalp. So when he transforms and gets bigger, his mustache is figuratively 'sucked-in', and pokes back out again when he deflates?

Heh... How would you like to see that special effect on a movie screen?

Still not buying it! I could see if he had some little wimpy mustache like Dr Strange or Tony Stark, but Ross has a MANTACHE. That sucker should have grown bigger! And badder! Ofcourse, we would have all figured out who he was the second Red Hulky shown up. So they of cheated.

I mean yeah, Vegeta was a prick, a Genocidal monster who wiped out entire worlds for fun and profit, but he was an honorable prick, he has redeeming qualities.

Red Hulk is just a douche.

That actually would make for a good series; what if a fanfic mary sue/Gary Stu, suddenly lost their author sanctioned immunity, and the rest of the world proper realized how much what had been done to them and decided to take it out on said Sue/Stu?

Eh, in my rpg setting, I made General Ryker the Red Hulk (Makes more sense to me), and Ross is not a Hulk at all (If I do make him a Hulk, I'd make hm the version from that What if).
