Um ... I understood it as being the fanspeak for 'relationship', which makes sense!

I get terms like 'OTP' and 'n00b' (which - in risking stating the obvious *GASP* - I am, here) ... still puzzled on things like 'w00b/w00bie' - which of course is going to leave me feeling like a d00f, when I find out it's meaning!

As I understand it, 'woobie' basically means a sympathetic character who has such bad luck that you wanna go 'awww' and give him/her a big ol' hug. I'm guessing that the term derives from the wobbling of the lower lip as you fight back tears - or so would be my guess, anyway.
Don't worry about it - I've been on here for several years, and I still feel like a bit of a newbie.

In this case, 'lashing' just means that it's laid on top of the meat while it cooks. I'm not sure if the term applies to other things than bacon - I've only ever heard it used with bacon.

Yup ... I've also heard of 'rashers' but that simply pertains to cooked strips of such.
