Because I Love You All: GALACTUS IS COMING! (JTC parody)

So I see this brilliant little Jack Chick parody via Stuart Immonnen's Twitter feed, and I immediately thought of you. Enjoy. (click on image for whole thing).

This must be 'acronyms I don't understand' night - 'WEG'?

[personal profile] psychopathicus_rex 2010-12-06 10:38 (UTC)(link)
Ah. See, it seems so obvious after you've TOLD me, but beforehand...

Don't feel *too* bad ... I had to Google 'ship/shippy', last week!

I've a feeling I'm going to be doing a LOT of that, on this page! :")

'Shippy' as in a funny way to say 'ship'? 'I shippy them', that sort of thing?

Um ... I understood it as being the fanspeak for 'relationship', which makes sense!

I get terms like 'OTP' and 'n00b' (which - in risking stating the obvious *GASP* - I am, here) ... still puzzled on things like 'w00b/w00bie' - which of course is going to leave me feeling like a d00f, when I find out it's meaning!

And Google to the rescue, once again! :-)

[personal profile] psychopathicus_rex 2010-12-07 05:28 (UTC)(link)
As I understand it, 'woobie' basically means a sympathetic character who has such bad luck that you wanna go 'awww' and give him/her a big ol' hug. I'm guessing that the term derives from the wobbling of the lower lip as you fight back tears - or so would be my guess, anyway.
Don't worry about it - I've been on here for several years, and I still feel like a bit of a newbie.

The 'net has WAY too many of those. I've spent the past five minutes trying to figure that one out.

Presumably with lashings of bacon and a few orange slices, to keep it juicy.

MEAT CANDY!!?! :-D

...

... but then you had to go n add those orange-y health points - BOOOO!

[personal profile] psychopathicus_rex 2010-12-07 04:41 (UTC)(link)
Don't think 'health points', think 'sweet and juicy'. It'll make the meat all tender and melt-in-your-mouth.

Hmmm ...

[identity profile] charlottesmtms.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 04:48 (UTC)(link)
... well, it *is* being used as a garnish ... carry on!

*yoinks a lashing*

Re: Hmmm ...

[personal profile] psychopathicus_rex 2010-12-07 05:23 (UTC)(link)
In this case, 'lashing' just means that it's laid on top of the meat while it cooks. I'm not sure if the term applies to other things than bacon - I've only ever heard it used with bacon.

Yup ... I've also heard of 'rashers' but that simply pertains to cooked strips of such.

*yoinks another lashing*
