So it's pretty clear that Max is not behind Wonder Woman's current circumstances.

They start talking about how it was the death of Wonder Woman at Max's hands that brought about the horrible future and discover that no one knows who she is, except for Booster, Captain Atom, Bea, and Tora.

Bea is probably going to be fine, but it is a nice dramatic moment.

I don't think you need to feel dumb for getting offended by those lines. I couldn't believe they did it. I sat there reading it open-mouthed. "Heroes come from better stock"? What the fuck?

I thought I would pick up anything between two covers so long as Booster and/or (any) Beetle were in it, but after this issue I am done with this.

Hahahahh I thought Bea would protest from the "Heroes come from better stock" thing a biiiit more, maybe to give a more even narrative and explain Tora's dumb self loathing as internalized racism or something but nope.

ANYWAY TORA YOU DON'T HAVE A SISTER YOU HAVE A BROTHER. WHO IS A MONUMENTAL DICK.

She's seriously not recognizable anymore.

That's the part I can't get over. Like, the racism is appalling as all getout, obviously, but it's not surprising, once the initial shock wore off. This is Big Two comics, we'd be foolish to expect better.

But, like, we haven't just met her family, they were the crux of a major story arc! One of them was a supervillian! It's like writing a Batman story where he angsts about the puppy that his parents couldn't afford to buy him on that poverty-stricken seventh Christmas of his life. How the hell does Winick expect to sell us on this?

Knowing just some of Winick's past works, it would seem he really doesn't give a rat's ass about many characters' past and fans, such as The Marvel Family, Green Arrow, The Titans, and even Black Lighting I believe. He doesn't seem to bother familiarizing himself with even the most basic aspects of certain characters (Like if their family was ever mentioned before), so he must think other's probably wouldn't care or notice either. Or he does, but thinks he can do 'better.' And obviously, can't.

I've asked this before, but really...why does this man keep getting work? And on pretty high profile books, too?

they were also mentioned in the Booster Gold story arc where he saved Ted's life. Not in detail or anything, but they were in a hidden ice land and powerful enough they'd be a threat to Max and OMACs.
