cyberghostface: (Spidey & MJ)
[personal profile] cyberghostface posting in [community profile] scans_daily
So, when we last left off, Mole Man had kidnapped Aunt May and Mary Jane, with the intention of making May his queen. Surprisingly, May took a liking to the Mole Man, given she has a thing for overweight supervillains with sight problems.

Spidey and the Thing decide to crash the party, only to see things aren't as they seem...

very mild crack, but good crack.

A minister in subterranea? What would you do with one all the down miles beneath the surface.... ooooooh..... never mind.

this reminds me of the time Comic Book Guy and Skinner's mother hooked up on the Simpsons.

I really, really hope they go through with it and May's happy as a result. That'd be about a zillion kinds of awesome.

Kudos, Stan.

Actually...here's a thing: provided I can get to a scanner before New Years', I'll post the relevant pages up in a day or two and show you the story that (I think) it's referencing. Although it was more a trope that MAD kept using in their stories...

I love the random Minister, just lurking about for this chance.

But seriously, since civil marriage derives authority from the state, and in this case the state is Melvin, why would it be a problem?

I'm sure there are some ethical objections to someone officiating over their own wedding. It may not be recognised by other states at all if Subterania is actually recognised itself.

He wouldn't have to officiate himself - he could just point at a random Subterranean and go 'By the power invested in me by myself as head honcho of Subterranea, I proclaim you officiator of this wedding. Now read these words I'll write down for you, and pause where it says 'pause'.'

Makes perfect sense to me. Melvin has always been more of an orthogonal moral presence than a super-villain, he's got his own priorities, and tends just to emerge to tear shit up when people intrude on subterrenea anyway.

Plus, May has a thing for the tortured geniuses. She almost married Doc Ock, after all.

Awesome I especially liked Spidey's "She's an adult, she can do whatever she wants" comment, and the fact that even though he doesn't like her decision he respects it.

Also pure awesome crack.

Go May go!

We need Doc Ock to turn up to crash the party and try and 'save' his "one true love" before she marries the wrong guy!

May marrying supervillains (although we can argue that Mole man isn't so much a villain as he is a ruler) in this way is ten times better than anything 616 could come up with, though just as twisted ;P

Good for you for respecting your Aunt's wishes, Spidey. Although you may find dropping by for a chat and a stack of wheatcakes somewhat difficult after this...

Uh-oh! Looks like the way things are going in the strip, Joe Quesada might have to break-up Aunt May's marriage to J. Jonah Jameson Sr. in the comics in order to quickly marry her off to "Melvin." :p

galateus: which is weirder? (circle one) a) thinking you are Nightcrawler b) thinking you are Vaporeon c) being unable to decide (nightcrawler or vaporeon)
From: [personal profile] galateus
Wait, does Aunt May not know Spider-Man's secret identity in this universe? Or is she just waay better at feigning ignorance than MJ.

I love that Peter immediately went looking for the Mole Man's natural nemeses but only ended up with the most entertaining of the four to team up with.
