The Batman and Superman (and Robin) of the 853rd century return in Superman/Batman 79...

Time-traveling villain Epoch arrives in the 853rd century and begins making trouble at Metro-Dome One on the planet Mercury.

He steals some snazzy armor being kept as a trophy in the Batcave, which was his plan all along.

His next task is to retrieve his equipment that was confiscated when he was captured. First stop, the JLA HQ orbiting Jupiter, where his "anti-hourglass" has been taken as a trophy.

After that, it's to the Fortress of Solitude on Earth, where his chrono-cube has been stored.

I was really liking Superman's costume here, until that last page. That red stripe/underwear....not a good look.
Also, the bulge. Good god, the bulge.

On the other hand, Wibbely Wobbly, Timey Wimey Stuff. So that's alright.

That could be a new development (uh, the stripe, I mean) - it's been a while since I checked out the original DC One Million, but as I recall, Supes wore an all-blue outfit, without the stripe.

Yet so very accurate, if you think about it. How many people walk into Arkham and never leave, permanently? It may just be a rather genre savvy comment on comic book recidivism.

I love the super costume, but for a solar-powered guy, I don't know. I remember once when he was drained by the Parasite while flying, and had to take off his boots to get enough power to not be splattered on impact. His socks either stayed in ... or those must be some super stinky boots.

I miss that goofy giant gold key ... kept here as a decoration, since the door has no keyhole.

I hate to tell anyone their business, but the Asylum Planet of Pluto hasn't been a planet for 833 centuries. The Asylum Dwarf Planet of Pluto? Maybe the Morlocks of the 803rd century voted for reinstatement?

One day, the Batman of the 853rd Century felt a shift in the timeline. Such things happen every once in a while with time travel being common-place, but that day it was something both banal and awful--a scientist in the 21st Century decided that Pluto wasn't a planet, which caused the Asylum to never be built, and the whole solar system was in chaos. So, Batman got in his time machine and went back in time to set things right...

Yeah... If a superhero is solar powered and near-invulnerable, that's about the one time a "battle bikini" or equivalent (battle speedo? like Namor!) would genuinely be appropriate. Although in the new Young Justice cartoon, Cadmus apparently built a special suit for Superboy that would make it easier for him to do his solar absorption thing, even moreso than if he were, like, running around naked or something (for once, please ignore how that sounds, s_d, I didn't mean it that way), it sounded like to me. Dunno.

I do dig the Superman 1,000,000 costume. Kinda wish they'd tweak Supes' current costume to be similar to that, if only to update his style a little bit. I'm not saying I hate Superman's classic costume, just saying some kind of tweak might not hurt.

I thought Superman 1KK's costume was pretty rad... for Superman 1KK. It's not something I'd like to see incorporated into S-Prime's look but it worked for the character

I actually kind of felt the same way for Batman 1M's costume; works for him, but try and work that into Bruce Wayne's look and I'd just start getting Knightfall flashbacks.
