TWO new Black Cat "Batman and Son's" Stories for Mother's Day (The US version at any rate)

Mother's Day in the UK in the fourth Sunday in Lent, in the US I believe it's the first second Sunday in May....

In any event, I come bearing a treat for us all..

I love the bow-ties! (Even TERRY has one!) (late note: And I see the boys are in full length formal capes, which somehow DOES make them more serious looking.)

Trust Timmy to be the voice of reason... Make you just want to gather them up in a group hug, and the final cameo by the ghost of Mrs Wayne waving an unseen (except maybe by Terry) goodbye to her son and grandsons... sniff...

And if you think that was bad, THIS one will have you bawling....











The author notes (on her deviant_art page) that she debated whether to have Terry already in his bat-suit when he arrived, but decided that that was how everyone already knew him in this universe, so why change it now?

I ADORE Batman's smile when Terry giggles at him at the first time, and if you're heart doesn't break for Selina here, well, I don't want to know you, it's as simple as that.

Excuse me, I think I have to go dry my eyes, and then phone my Mum, just to say hello!

I think we all agree that we should off a massive thank you, as always, to the founder of the feast, so let's hear it for the_dark_cat!

OMG, I love this. Where to begin? The bowties alone would make it fantastic. And the naming of Terry after a cat (it's an honor!).

I love the back and forth between Dick and Jason at the grave about Bruce. They're so believable as brothers who both see a role for themselves in the family. Jason wouldn't be half so lovably obnoxious if Dick wasn't so earnestly loving and responsible.

Also I LOL'd at the confusion with the headstones. I've long been under the impression that Bruce has graves for his parents scattered all over the town with different headstones depending on his mood.

Of course, now I totally want to see each and every one of the three Robins with dead moms visit their graves and talk to their ghosts about their family. Maybe next year.;-)

In the US, it's the 2nd Sunday in May. But there's Mother's Day stuff everywhere this weekend, so I've gotten myself all confused. It's very strange.

I think Deadman is being confused with the Spectre.

I'm curious if this is based on the original idea for what became the JLU episode "Epilogue." Instead of Amanda Waller creating a "son" for Bruce Wayne via "overwriting" Warren McGinnis' DNA with Bruce's, it was Selina Kyle. I'm not sure where I read this, but I think it was going to be the plot to another "direct to DVD" Batman Beyond movie.

Personally, the only parts of Epilogue that really confused me were the black and white scenes. I thought they were flashbacks, not Terry's imagination.

I think Deadman is being confused with the Spectre.

I don't think so, in this context both Deadman and Secret are, effectively, ghosts of humans. The Spectre is a whole lot MORE than that; it's the Spirit of God's Vengeance which is linked to a ghost.

And I can't imagine BTAS Selina Kyle being remotely cold-blooded enough to go through with the plan Amanda did.
