Shortpacked: S'Up with Robin and Leslie?
Jan. 10th, 2011 11:04 pmAs the great River Song said,
There be big changes potentially in store for my favourite webcomic couple, but for those who aren't keeping up with the strip, I thought that I'd provide this helpful summary.
This plotline began some time back, when Robin DeSanto (former alien abductee who gets superspeed from consuming vast qualities of sugar) decides to invent a new type of breakfast cereal.

Wow, that's with the American version of Creme Eggs, imagine if they had the British ones, which are bigger and avaliable more than at Easter like the ones in the US are. Or at least in the area of the US I've visited often they are.
Skip closer to the present, when Congresswoman Robin is now in the lame duck period of her term of office, having been ousted whilst in the midst of some Drama-induced depression.

Manley, a guy whose name invokes the subtly of Robin's significant other Leslie Bean's name, is a guy who have appeared in a couple of previous strips, but despite his (disturbing) similarities to Robin, she's barely noticed he's there.
Despite this, the pair decide to work on Robin's legislation together, if only because everyone else in the House of Congress evidently hates her now. Probably because they're racists/homophobes.

TIME PASSES!

Robin arrives back home, where all is not as it seems...

...
Ho ho ho, on the plus side, that must have been a heck of a sex tape in order to create a psuedo-utopian society, right? ...Nope, that doesn't make it better, if anything I'm even MORE sad!
Anyhoo, Shortpacked creator David Willis is back from his delayed honeymoon/Christmas break, so hopefully we'll see what actually happened and this was all some horrible, horrible example of bad journalism.
Hopefully. :(

Date: 2011-01-10 11:42 pm (UTC)Creme Eggs are usually available in the UK between December 26 (Though I hear tell of some being available in the week before Christmas which is just plain damn WRONG) and Easter
And my inner geek will balance the Big Bang jibe against the sweet, sweet notion of Transformers: Animated getting a season 4
