The rainbow scarf, long hair, and coat all say he's the 4th Ducktor, at least to my eye.

Judging by the Police Box and the mutli-coloured scarf, it's Tom Draker, the Fourth Ducktor Who.

And actually, if you check out page 8 of the preview, you might see a certain character from Hogducks Academy.

The ruff around the neck, and the half and half outfit suggest it's something to do with Quackerjack, but more than that I have no clue

Hmmm...that would bit ironically fitting considering that Negaduck originally didn't consider Quackerjack a "serious" villain, so having anything linked to Quackerjack giving Negaduck a good portion of the karmic hammer is fully appreciated. =)

That would be Paddywhack, a villian that fist appeared in the cartoon in the episode "The Haunting of Mr. Banana Brain"

We saw him come back at the end of issue #7.

I considered it to be a Good Episode within Good Series, so that made it easier to recall.

Plus, pretty sure Paddywhack freaked me out as a kid. *shudders*

GOD. I love this comic. Best thing to come out of 2010 (and actually continue into 2011).

But the '...before he loses HER.' thing has me worried. I fear for Gos and Morgana, especially with the comic spoofs going the way they are (first thoughts were spoofs on Jason Todd or Gwen Stacy, and even as humor it was BAD).

And I can't be the only one to notice in the Lion Duck panel, that the part of Morgana is being played by TIMON? Quick, someone hit the Emergency Shutdown switch on my brain, before my imagination takes over!

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Dark Warrior Duck is probably referencing his own backstory, where he became the Knight Templar that he is due to Gosalyn disappearing. *Via Quackerjack's Time Top, it was a good episode.

As someone who has NEVER seen the cartoon, how accessible is this comic? It looks fun.

First off, I really recommend checking out the cartoon. Gold standard Disney cartoon, right up there with Gargoyles.

And the comic is definitely accessible to non-fans; there isn't any really major in-jokes from the cartoon in it, and while it helps to know the characters, you pick up their attitudes pretty quick.

One of the great things about the DwD cartoon is that if you're at all familiar with any sort of pulpy detective, spy, mask-wearing hero, superhero/comic book conventions, or hell any sort of pop culture you will find lots of humor. And while it's filled with spoofs of innumerable Comic book, television, film & radio characters, these characters, the denizens of St. Canard, remain unique, memorable and endearing.

One thing you will miss having not seen the show, is the epic voice-acting of Jim Cummings. Nothing beats having that Negaduck voice in the back of my mind as I read. Sex, drugs, chocolate? Nothing.

But really, I hear ALL of their voices (DW, Gosalyn, Launchpad, even Magica!) when I read this comic, as if it's an actual episode. The jokes, the commentary...it's uncanny.

These guys did what the fans wanted them to do. They got it right.

OK, this. Is. Kick. Ass. Hordes of hypnotized Darkwings! Good Quiverwing-Darkwing kicking their asses! Darkwarrior Duck eager to get the town under his iron thumb, but not so eager that he forgets his origins! Negaduck dual-wielding chainsaws! Magica dressed up like a Conan the Barbarian villain...! OK, not too wild about that; still, not a game-changer. YAAAAAH! *bounces up and down*
Now, if only Disney would get off their asses and release the third volume of the show so I can finally get caught up on things properly, I will be a happy little Darkwing fan.
