She always seemed like a very authentic young child to me. I think she's supposed to be four or five at the oldest - most people can't remember that period of their childhood accurately anyway.

The unique perspective she brings to otherwise very ordinary, mundane situations is the whole point of her character, and in that respect she reminds me very strongly of a couple of kids I've known.

Eh, she's a hyperactive five-year-old. I remember what it was like for me back when I was that age. I was a bit calmer, but some of my friends from back then could have put her to shame. Life was fun.

The only reason I don't like Yotsuba& is because I feel like the mangaka is only repeating the same jokes and delivery style as she did in Azumanga Dioh.

Also because I have no soul.

(Caveat, I've only read like the first two tankubon of Yotsuba& before giving up, so idk I could be TOTALLY WRONG OMG. But I LOVED Azumanga Dioh and was disappointed by this offering.)
