I recently read an old interview with Paul Cornell where he said Mark Millar is responsible for his current comic book career. Millar called him up after watching an episode of DOCTOR WHO he wrote, "Human Nature," offering to connect him with Marvel editors. Before that, he'd been trying to get into the industry but not really getting anywhere.

So if Millar weren't a big name, none of Cornell's work for Marvel and DC would exist. That's funny.









Amidst dealing with various disasters and crimes, "Superior" handles a bully who beat up his best friend.

The thing is, I kinda love this book. A lot. Which is why as we near the ending, I get more and more scared. When will the rape and despair start? And with who?

Probably right after the monkey turns that kid into a satan-powered psychopath.

It'd be hilarious if he turned him down. The comic would become Superior flying around doing good and Evil Dead Space Monkey wandering around trying to get someone to take up his offer.
I think one issue of that might make Millar's head implode though.

2. the trade paperback of any given utterly shitty Mark Millar comic

That would be hilarious, yes. If the kid dropped the idiot ball and said "You know what? I'm not going to pick a fight with the superhero whose saving lives. I mean, this is the 22nd century man. I'm not some idiot fucking kid from the 80's who only cares about playing ball and beating my rivals. Have you seen the death figures for Darfur, monkeyman? Have you?
