Okay, I've seen it three times now. I have to ask. What the hell is with the Tim Burton swirls on the Joker's face?

Is it just a weird artist quirk or scars, or what?

Cause honestly it is bothering me.Especially since the rest of his face is rendered fairly well but hes got these floating swirls that don't seem to conform to the folds of his face.

Probably just a weird artist quirk - it's far from the worst I've seen. There was one issue of Catwoman that not only had the swirls, they were colored the same as his lips, and his lips were BLUE. THAT looked weird, let me tell you.

Actually, so am I - I only flipped through it once or twice in the supermarket, and from what I recall, it was actually a pretty good story. It involved, as I recall, the Joker using Catwoman as bait for Batman by hitting her with a cream pie that had something in it that he could trace with some sort of gadget - so when she inevitably met up with Bats, he'd know exactly where they both were, and be right there to spring his trap. It was pretty interesting - if anyone wants to post it, I'd like to reread it.

I'd assume they are supposed to be facial scars but to me they look more like 1) Someone drew a little mustache on him but put it in the wrong place, or 2) Someone got reeeeeally creative in giving him a Glasgow smile.

Luthor really is DC's counterpart to Dr. Doom, isn't he: Absolutely brilliant. Absolutely convinced he knows what's best for the world. Equally convinced in the ends justify the means. Doesn't consider himself evil in the slightest. Considers his grudges and blindspots to be things his enemies dreamed up to justify standing in his way.

Excellent observation. Just that Doom lives in his armor, and Lex only wears his for special occasions. Lex could do well to learn a few spells, I think? :)

I think I read somewhere that Lex considers magic "Archaic Pseudo science".

However, I will point out in the DCAU Lex did have a magic talisman on hand to deal with Talah's sudden but inevitable betrayal.

That makes sense to me. I would think that hard science/tech people like Lex and Reed wouldn't have the inclination, and Doom is all about power in any form.

Larfleeze has actually brought up Luthor's lack of hair a few times before. The main one I can remember was in Blackest Night when after Larfleeze got the orange ring back from Luthor, he yelled something at him about how he'd also steal the hair off his head if he had any.

Then again, Larfleeze has referred to humans in particular as "hairless beings" before, which makes sense considering Larfleeze is covered in hair and thinks humans are very strange looking, much the same as humans think he is very strange looking. I think my favorite showing of this was in a recent Green Lantern issue where a girl told Larfleeze he was funny looking and he responded by saying something like, "Look who's talking. You don't even have a snout."

So yeah, the hairless thing sounded okay to me, though, "I have a question for humans" does sound kind of weird coming from him. It just doesn't sound the way he usually talks.

Now I totally want to see lolcat Larfleeze. "I CAN HAZ EVRYTHNG?"

Love that Larfleeze appears to have stolen Siegfried and Roy's tigers along with kidnapping a Vegas showgirl. I also really like the security guards expression. His face just says, "We go through this EVERY. NIGHT."

All of the constructs of people/aliens/whatever that he makes are of people that he has killed in the past. Which is pretty creepy when you think about it. But it was pretty hilarious in Blackest Night when they ALL came back to life and were trying to kill him.
