Franklin can alter reality itself. If he can create a mini-cosmos he can bring back Johnny.

Bring him back.

[personal profile] nefrekeptah 2011-01-28 21:23 (UTC)(link)
He's not going to, of course, because that would be a really cheap way of bringing him back (not to mention that it brings up a whole lot of questions that all go, "Why doesn't Franklin bring back ______, or "why doesn't Franklin retconn ______") but you're right, by rights he should be able to.

Hopefully, they'll be a good explanation on why he doesn't just do that.

So either 1) Franklin wills Johnny back into existence or 2) Spidey makes yet another deal with Mephisto to bring him back.

It would be awesome if Peter turns out like Felix Faust, where he's sold his soul so many times that it's worthless and no devil wants it anymore.
nefrekeptah: (Default)

HIs soul

[personal profile] nefrekeptah 2011-01-28 21:26 (UTC)(link)
Except, of course, that Peter's never sold his soul in the first place.

Nope, just the life of his unborn child. :D

Actually? I don't blame Spider-Man for that, I blame Quesada.

There's times when you get mad at the characters for the decisions they make, and then there's times when you get mad at the writers and/ or editors for making their characters say and do things that completely goes against who they are. And for me, OMD is firmly in the latter.

So, as far as I am concerned, Peter Parker didn't sell his marriage to Satan, or his unborn child; Quesada did, to fulfill his own agenda.

Spidey sells his relationship with Carly to the Devil?

[personal profile] agharta75 2011-01-28 20:56 (UTC)(link)
Why would the Devil want something worthless?

Mephisto is a Quesada fan and believes him when he says Carlie is awesome?

Somehow it'd be infinitely amusing if somehow Peter were forced into that action and when telling Mephisto the offer Mephisto just falls over laughing.

Isn't Carlie Mephisto's spawn anyway?

Blackheart had some work done.

[personal profile] agharta75 2011-01-29 15:19 (UTC)(link)
Has Marvel gone with that already? Not that I'm surprised, but I'd expected it wouldn't be for another year or so ...

That gave me a good laugh.

Reading the entire preview, yeah, that's the true Peter Parker.
With his head and heart in the right place.

Whatever happened to that guy? I miss him.

That was my response too. Somehow I feel as if the new Peter Parker would bring Franklin to a playground to pick up some chicks. -_-'

[personal profile] icon_uk 2011-01-28 20:36 (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's a nice Peter Parker moment, though one has to wonder why Franklin admitting that he's thinking bad thoughts doesn't have most of humanity wetting itself in collective terror.
pyrotwilight: (Default)

[personal profile] pyrotwilight 2011-01-28 21:05 (UTC)(link)
Of course it does. I mean, how do YOU think Norman became the leader of SHIELD?

Franklin: What's it like if the bad guys win?

SUDDENLY SIEGE.

Franklin: Nah, nevermind.

SUDDENLY AGE OF HEROES.
darkblade: (Default)

[personal profile] darkblade 2011-01-28 21:14 (UTC)(link)
Actually that explains just about every recent event.

Franklin: There sure are a lot of mutants. Why are they treated as a minority? (Which only makes sense as a eight year old's thought).

SUDDENLY HOUSE OF M

Franklin: Uncle Tony and Unlce Steve are really close. I wonder if they ever fight?

SUDDENLY CIVIL WAR

Holy fuck. Holy fuck

Is it me, or does that make waaayyyyy more sense than it ought to?
jazzypom: (vision and stature)

I'll take that for 100, Alex

[personal profile] jazzypom 2011-01-29 10:04 (UTC)(link)
That would be brilliant.

[personal profile] endis_ni 2011-01-29 12:52 (UTC)(link)
And suddenly everything starts making a kind of unsettling sense...

[identity profile] mcity.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 09:53 (UTC)(link)
Franklin: I wish Uncle Spidey would have more time to hang out with me.

SUDDENLY ONE MORE DAY
icon_uk: (Default)

[personal profile] icon_uk 2011-01-28 21:15 (UTC)(link)
That's a terrifyingly brilliant suggestion.

[personal profile] schala_kid 2011-01-28 21:42 (UTC)(link)
First thing I thought, did he tell his parents before taking Franklin? I imagine Sue and Reed would go batshit if they see their kid is not where they left him. Eh, they probably have security cameras I guess because it would be really dumb of them to leave Franklin alone and unsupervised.

Oh and I liked Spidey's "I really liked him" comment (even though we all know he more than "really liked him" he loved him like a bro.) and I really like this version of non-jerkwad Spidey.

bruinsfan: (Default)

[personal profile] bruinsfan 2011-01-28 23:22 (UTC)(link)
I hope, since the Spider-Man I'm reading in New Avengers actually seems pretty much in character, that he and Ben will have a conversation or two about Johnny's death there.

I figure he left a bunch of webbing or something. "Wasn't Franklin up here? Oh wait, isn't that Spidey's webbing?"

[personal profile] darkknightjrk 2011-01-29 00:00 (UTC)(link)
Hey Marvel--any chance of possibly having Hickman do a run on Amazing after he finishes his F4? That would be great. :D

[personal profile] arilou_skiff 2011-01-29 03:17 (UTC)(link)
Him or Reed, both write good Spidey.

It would take me forever to draw that city view!!

[identity profile] mcity.livejournal.com 2011-02-25 09:54 (UTC)(link)
Artists who do backgrounds like that are severely underrated.

I have got to brush up on my enviro skills. (i.e.; getting some)
