Not so much "stupid" I'd say as "completely unused to the concept of recreational social interactions and charm".

His idea of subtlety in the past was expecting a captive Robin to be appreciative for blindfolding him instead of just blinding him (which Bane did note would have been easier for him)

This raises a question: Steroids cause testicle shrinkage. Venom was basically Super-Steroids. Even though he's no longer on Venom, is Bane's junk unnaturally small due to said Venom abuse?

I'm sorry, I don't really buy this. I know that Bane is a little unused to normal social interactions, but the guy's been around the world, worked with, for, and alongside all kinds of people, including Bruce 'the Playboy' Wayne. Furthermore, he's a smart, self-educated, well-read man, even if most of that reading had to do with military tactics and the like. He should not be THIS naive about what to do on a date.

I'd say he may know, but he's never been on an actual date before, he's never had anything personally invested in such a relationship, so he's absurdly nervous.
