What happens when you put the king of Earth's oceans in an alien ocean? Modern Aquaman switches places with his 853rd century counterpart, the defender of the planet Neptune. In the future the eighth planet has become a water world teeming with coral cities and all manner of alien aquatic life.

Aquaman's guide is a "sentient interactive protocol construct" by the name of Pilot.

Unlike most of his teammates, Aquaman's assigned task for the DC ONE MILLION celebrations isn't so much a challenge as a performance, as you'll see.

At first he's daunted by the vastness of Neptune's oceans, but he gets the hang of it.

He's just about to add synchronized bioluminescent patterns to his show when a saboteur unleashes a kraken in Neptune's waters.

At Pilot's suggestion, Aquaman goes deep to get help from something called the Reefs.

And the kraken is successfully mollified.
