Date: 2011-02-04 09:45 pm (UTC)Actually, she's always come closer to killing him in the DCU than the other way around. She's been responsible for some of those broken bones and concussions he's had, over the years.
She's stronger, faster, and more agile than he is, and has much faster reaction time (It took Dick, Tim, and Cassandra combined to fight her to a standstill, remember). The fact that the Joker kept provoking her is evidence that he has a death wish.

Date: 2011-02-05 11:09 am (UTC)You might as well say "well, the Joker is just a non-powered human being, anybody with a gun should be able to kill him." But they aren't. He'll always kill anybody who tries to shoot him.
If Harley tries to kill the Joker, she'll fail, and he'll do something horrible to her to show the readers how dangerous he is. Not because it makes sense, but because the Joker is much more of a cash-cow than Harley.

Date: 2011-02-07 09:07 am (UTC)Actually, he's never retaliated for her repeated attempts on his life. The first time she was about to kill him, he apologized. That worked, for a while.
Next time, she left him in really bad shape, broken bones, concussions... When he recovered, he decided he wanted her to have his kid. Third attempt (after they'd been split for a while), she blew up the elevator he was in. He responded by trying to win her back. Last time they saw each other was when she shot him.
Only Bruce has done more physical damage to the Joker over the years.
