A GLOWING WRENCH! Haha, I was totally thinking about HeroMachine when I was looking at these pictures at io9.com and surely enough Comics Alliance was too. "...looks like someone hit the 'Random' button in HeroMachine and called it a day."

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm assuming he quickly reference/traced from that template to get some ideas out.

Occasionally, toy companies will borrow artwork from comics and artbooks and modify it for w/e reason to put it on there packaging. They might have requested that the artist use those same poses.

Who is the artist for these? I can't find the article on i09 and there's no creator credit.

The lack of any credit on the pages themselves is another reason I don't give these much credence.

That makes tons of sense. I have no idea who artist is either.

I note in the top left of page 2 some tiny print says "Kenner Anti-Heroes Designs", so I'm guessing this was for a failed toy line (and thank goodness it did fail).

I was just about to say this reeks of "Extreme Justice" / Waffle-iron Bolo Cape Batman so they've gotta be from a toy line.
