IF this sticks, I wonder how Max's Marvellous Mindfilter will spin this?

Suicide? Abducted by aliens again? Girlfriend magicked him away when the new Aquagirl tried to steal him from her?

AND considering how Jaime was at least on somewhat good terms with Bruce, who knows who Max is due to being in the past during the mindwipe, isn't it marvellous to think of how pissed Batman'll be when he learns that another young superhero he was friends with was murdered?

Max isn't making things better for himself when the Batman'll catch up to him.

So much rage right now. So much rage. I don't even care if it's a fake-out at this point, I've covered my coffee table in napalm vomit. Atrocitus ain't got nothing on me.

The art was pretty terrible in this issue. Paco looked like a forty-year-old man, and Tora's unattractive new costume got a mysterious belly shirt. Do you guys even talk to each other? Did Tora just rip the middle out of her costume between issues?

I give up. I don't care if Jaime comes back. I don't even care if Jaime and Ted both come back riding pink flying unicorns, I'm emotionally done. If anybody needs me, I'll be in the corner with my JLI trades and plenty of happy fanfiction.

They're done for the same reason characters' lives are endangered at all. The point is suspense, though the execution doesn't always carry that off, of course.

I would forgive all if this happened. It would take a lot of heroes in concert to stop Khaji Da on default settings. He can synthesize kryptonite radiation and generate antimagic, teleport, go out-of-phase with conventional matter, and fuck up A-list supers in hand-to-hand AND ranged combat. Stopping him would be a nightmare.

About the only limiters we have is (obviously) there are Green Lanterns on earth (who are about equal in power by canon) and he's pre-programmed to avoid ecological damage, so he probably won't spam with energy weapons and explosives, with is SOMETHING, I guess.

	On the other hand when facing really strong enemies like the Spectre his armor dials up to WMD level weapons apparently. Though if that'd counter the be green rule is a good one. Or why the armor has that coding at all (to not harm nature). (Reply to this) (Thread from start) (Parent)

The 'not harming nature' thing is still a bit mysterious, IIRC. I think the implication is that The Reach were concerned about footprint issues. They issue scarabs only on worlds they intend to take over, after all, and are willing to wait to get a world in better condition.

The other possibility, which is a bit more cosmic, is that The Reach were previously at war with the Guardians, and possibly other similarly powerful forces. In some versions of the DCU, The Green is a universal consciousness connecting all Life, which has ridiculous power at certain times. Given The Reach's enormous civilization, they may have to take pains to keep their aggregate natural destruction down, to keep The Green from taking notice and smacking them around.
