Normally I have not been a huge fan of Batman and Robin, but I just had to post this. Damian makes some rude quips about a suicide jumper, calling him Mr. Potato Head so Gordon...

I actually disagree on Damian in general here--that is, I think he is a bigot and that he's been raised to be a bigot and that that's actually a flaw (one of the few!) in his functioning rather than a tactical maneuver. I don't think Bruce sees people the same way Damian does, for instance, and is less likely to use those kinds of insults because Damian usually isn't insulting from a place of power.

But it does still come down to agreeing that Damian in those situations would, imo, use racist insults the same way he uses sexist ones, or target somebody's race or culture the same way he might their gender or whatever. I don't think he *will* do those things because I think DC would be nervous having Robin say that sort of thing, where as the kinds of jokes that he makes about women are seen as a "boys will be boys" sort of thing. I think they see them as harmless, as they see his snob jokes as harmless.

The singular reason I question Damian being a bigot, rather than an all around misathropist, is because I thought...despite a lot of whitewashing by artists...he was supposed to be mixed race, at least a quarter middle-eastern, if not half.

I think he is, yes. But he could think the races he is are superior. (In fact, his exact mixture might make him even better!)

Not that I'm sure all artists know this. I still think it's odd that he reminisced about Christmases past that one time.
