Amazing Spider-Man #654.1

So #654.1 is apparently a"dropping on" point for new readers. Don't know how good it will do in this case, as the entire issue serves more as a prologue to Flash's new Venom title as opposed to anything for ASM.
That being said...and I risk losing my Anti-BND Spidey card in doing this...but I thought the issue was decent, and the Flash/Venom idea much better than I initially thought. One thing I thought worked was that the symbiote isn't necessarily seen as a "cure" for Flash's missing legs--I was under the impression that Flash would now have legs for the foreseeable future and be returned to 'status quo', but it's only when he's as Venom. He's still crippled in his civilian role and dealing with the hardships as before.
Not to say that there aren't some flaws, and I know a lot of people will have a very negative reaction to the following pages, but I didn't think this was a bad issue. At the very least, I thought it was one of the better issues under the new status quo in a while (although the fact that Spidey's barely in it probably factored in)
Anyway, Venom's first real mission is to rescue a kidnapped Middle-eastern oil tycoon. Things take a turn for a worse and his "legs" are blown off.
