If this isn't allowed or I messed up somewhere, let me know.

The video, in still comic form, is wherever MAC's WW make-up line is sold. I saw it in Macy's up on a wall (and in smaller form on the display boxes).

I...I'm kind of in love with the PRESSED POWDER PUNCH. I keep exclaiming it loudly, emphatically and at random intervals. Just imagine Silver Age Wonder Woman taking out crooks with that.

Not shown immediately after: PRESSED POWDER PUNCH OF DOOM

So glad they used Silver Age Diana, cause modern age Diana would be appalled by this advertising.

So it's NOT what's within in you that counts, it's the make-up you use and how pretty you can make yourself look that counts, not just in Man's World but on Paradise Island?

Oh I'm looking forward to watching the discussion on the implications of THIS! :) Where's that popcorn....

And that's Mike Allred providing the art isn't it?

I thought the Plain Janes looked cute in a zombie-Mary Quant kind of way anyway.

This is a pretty insulting advert. And here I was, originally quite excited for the WW MAC collection...

"Hey Diana! Diana ! AHAHAHAHA"

~Diana walks into the Justice Family Room (now with pinball machines). Dinah, Ollie, Hal and Clark sit around the computer~

"What are you all laughing about, Hal's appearance on To Catch a Predator?"

"No, that's not until next month. We're watching you battle Medusa-"

"Oh shit"

"and her evil drab glare-"

"Ffffffffffff"

"and stop her from turning all women into Plain Janes,"

"God fucking dammit I told them to use that on instore monitors only."

"Jesus Di-Di 'powder punch'? I want to trade in my vagina just for that. Good fucking god, I punched Ollie in the dick when that happened."

"In regards to that I'm kinda annoyed that I'm your official genital punching bag, don't ever remember signing up for that duty."

"Look. Macy's offered me some money and I thought it, ya know, would be tasteful-"

"So, was this tasteful comment before or after they explained the whole, enemy of beauty thing? Just curious."

"Oh shut the fuck up Ollie, let's not forget that Axe commercial."

"To be fair I made sure those women gyrating on me had college degrees. And nice asses."

"And Clark, your commercials aren't much better."

~Flash cut~

"Try new advanced deodorant. So good, it'll make up for the fact that your planet is dead! Wait, who the fuck wro-"

~flash cut back~

"Look Di, we're just bothered by this, also why do you have an army of women in jumpsuits protecting you in the final part, the hell does that symbolize?"

"It symbolizes Diana got paid. Peace out, I have some shit to buy."

"Like literal shit? Because I can't think of many uses for-"

~Hal is punched in the face. By a rock. And by punched I mean he got hit by a rock thrown by Dinah~

"I'm gonna go sell out too. MAYBE I WAS BORN WITH IT! MAYBE IT'S MAYBELINE!"

Besides the obvious "why the heck did they present make-up as a 'cure' for ugliness instead of presenting it as a way to express youself?"...

Is it just me, or do those "plain Janes" look quite pretty? They just need a little sleep to take care of the bags under their eyes, and they wouldn't look any different than the average hot girl in comics. Are artists really that unable to draw ugly women? They draw ugly men all the time!

Well, think of the present presentation as like Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan. In twenty years, if there's any potential there, someone will do a smarter version that reexamines the concept, like the movie Greystoke in the 1980's.

Wondy is a silly pop-culture icon, this is her milieu. The badass in the comics since 1987 isn't even marketed by DC in their pop-culture licensing, & hasn't been for most of her existence. Modern Wondy is actually considered non-standard.

I think DC should just give up & turn Wondy into the giant ball of goofy constructed "feminity" their licensing department seems to think she should be, so I can hate her properly.

Actually, if I were Medusa (a formerly beautiful princess who was seduced by Poseidon in Athena's temple and consequently got ugly-blasted by Athena in revenge), I probably would go all rampagy on any slightly pretty girl that crossed my path since the gods are a leetle out of my revenge-reach. But then again, if I was Wondy, I probably wouldn't beat her up for it, I'd try to talk her out of it and wonder (no pun intended) why the heck her gaze suddenly turns people "plain" rather than into stone.

A for effort?

Yeah, Medusa had a fairly crappy life all things considered. Plus it's not like she was even a rampaging monster. She turned people who came near her isolated home into stone, which was not a good thing by any means, but she didn't go out HUNTING for victims or the like, and people knew of her condition. So if some over-testosteroned warrior wants to show how manly he is by hacking her up, on his own head be it.

So if you didn't want to be turned to stone, it was quite simple, you just didn't go near her home. I don't jump into tiger enclosures at the zoo for much the same reason, I know it would be a bloody ridiculous thing to do.

It's been said but...seriously guys, why go back to the 1940s version of make up here? You could have shown a lot of women deciding to be superheroes with WW by using the make up to express their own WW-ness. Instead you made her fight the horror that was women without make up.

IDEK. I for one am appalled at the prices they charge for this shit. In this economic climate, MAC expects us to pay THAT MUCH for stuff to color on our faces? I'm sorry, but I think I'll stick with the stuff I buy at the dollar store. No. And no.

But I can think of at least one Justice League story where she's wearing this hilariously clashy purple eyeshadow the whole arc long anyway. Colorists are also fond of periodically doing her nails in stark primary red. (Though that at least I can sort of buy, since I can see Donna dragging her out to get manicures on the weekends or whatever; given her line of work, though, I wouldn't expect it to last more than an hour, much less through a whole trade.)
