Sigh... so this is still dragging on? Look kid, your sister was a heroine, you were a hero, shouldn't the "Killing random people restores my sister" thing have been SOMETHING of a clue that things were going to go down the pan sooner rather than later?

He still consciously chose to kill them rather than just stop them because he felt it would help his sister based on no actual evidence except "a feeling". But then again he DID opt to stay with this team for whatever meshuggah reason

IIRC the effect it had on the statue was that it started to fracture and crack, and that, somehow, told him it was making her better.

Interesting, thanks. Though I will note that the White Lantern says nothing about "Killing people will free your sister", and in the second bit Osiris is udner the influence of what appears to be one heck of a hallucinogen so it is, at best, suspect data.

He was fooled by a TALKING CROCODILE! You're expecting way too much out of him.

He helped Deathstroke murder the Atom. Even if he didn't do it personally, he is still partially responsible for a hero's death.

None of the motivations for anyone in the Titans book makes any sense. And if anyone doubts what TPTB (aka Dan Didio still) REALLY think of the Shazam franchise just take a look at how even the supposedly more favored "Black Adam" family has fared (not even going into what's been done to the Batsons).

I can't wait for this to be over already (and I don't think Osiris will survive but that's just me).

That panel when she's looming over him in the first scan? I can't tell if that was intended to be sexy or not, but it looks terrifying. Her anatomy is just so...scary.

Why does this exist...?
Whatever residual sympathy I had left for these characters from 52 has long since been obliterated by this continuous stream of garbage.
At this point, they should simply nuke this book from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

...urg. URG! URGAMURG. URGAMURPAPLRUGMURG!

This is so bad. Just just just EVERYTHING! I can't even type coherently! Isis is evil again? WHY? And Kahndaq is being attacked again? WHY? It's a worse rehash of bad stories!

Why does everyone hate the Marvel family? Why?

Because "cool" heroes are considered better than "fun" heroes. :P

What the hell are you wearing, Isis? I don't remember your outfit in 52 being that . . . stupid.

OH wait, nevermind. It's her Eeeeeeeeevil outfit., right?

. . . right?

Yep! 'cause slightly more exposed than usual boobs=eeeeeeevil!

[personal profile] jlbarnett 2011-03-10 23:54 (UTC)(link)
no, it's her usual outfit. Well, it may have a bigger belly cutout, but if you look at that panel of her falling forward, I'm pretty sure midriffs don't work that way, so whatever clothing is supposed to cover them would be messed up to.

I think she's in what some might call a "Supertorso" situation.

Yes. Evil makes men sprout goatees and women favor clothing with less fabric. Has Star Trek taught you nothing?

Mirrorverse Spock, the one with the goatee, actually ends up a good guy. So yes, Star Trek taught me that pop-cultural osmosis always teaches people the wrong thing!

Could they have put that belt any lower on her hips and have it not be a piece of glorified clit jewelry?

It's not. You were probably better off with the red X's of death.

Course...if you're not Wonder Woman and are remotely powerful....you have to go insane or evil and show off the grand canyon between your breasts.

Like the art but hating the lack of originality in this story. Also, Isis is actually the goddess? for real-real not for play-play? She sure gets pulled back and forth a lot by much weaker foes then.
jaybee3: Nguyen Lil Cass (Default)

[personal profile] jaybee3 2011-03-11 04:43 (UTC)(link)
Isis is not a goddess but the people in Khandaq treat her like one and the power of the amulet gives her power to rival Black Adam himself (thus Superman/WW level power). You'd never know it by reading this book however.

[personal profile] jlbarnett 2011-03-11 12:59 (UTC)(link)
actually it made her more powerful than Black Adam, though I suppose that may just be in variety of powers, and I believe her powers are basically a direct conenction to Isis so she's sort of a living avatar of the goddess.

God. I wanted more Shazam stuff, but why did it have to be this.

My money is on Lady Blaze is possesing Isis

I don't like this for the Marvel families, it's painful to read. Since all three Marvels are currently depowered, though I am optimistic of a kind of "reboot" situation at the end of all of this Brightest Day nonesense for the Marvel family and have them repowered by the end somehow and just have them all "normal" again. I don't know what is in store for the Black Adam family, but it's not looking good.

Blaze is most certainly involved here.

[personal profile] psychopathicus_rex 2011-03-11 05:03 (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this... isn't very good writing. I won't go into the STORY, since I haven't been following it, but ye gods, the dialogue! It's an overcrowded wordstorm of cliches.
How is it, I wonder, that DC can have so many talented people working for them, and yet still come up with crap like this?

You know someone's turned EEEEVIL when they go from a simple white dress to a barely-there halter top.
