Can I just express some random love for Saturn Queen's outfit? I just really like the fact that it's not what you'd expect from an evil telepath.

It's an only slightly modified version of what she had originally, and its retro-futureness is glorious.

Mekt on the other hand, what is and ever has been the deal with those colors. I think that Levitz keeps them just to reinforce how pathetic he actually is.

Did they... did they just smoosh the Rock of Eternity.

And I love that last shot of Shazam's hand sticking out. Poor guy was probably asleep when they did this, and now he's like "The hell?"

My only comment is that I thought they'd sorted out that the name of the species was not the Gil'Dishpan (Which just sounds silly), but the Gil'dan.

They even had a nice little joke that it was the member who was a part of the "Invasion" alliance back in the 20th century who had a faulty translator and it had taken them nearly a millenium to convince the rest of the universe that they were NOT named after a kitchen utensil.

Sadly I suppose that was a couple of Legion revamps ago now and we're back to the silly sounding name.

Gotta love a philosophical super-villain. Good and Evil are overrated concepts anyway, all you need is conviction and a plan. Saturn Queen obviously has both, because when is "Smash Shit With Planets" ever not a good plan?

The rest of the Legion looks a little lame though, except for the Worm thing. Whatever happened to all the other alternate versions except Saturn Queen and Mekkt...?

On one hand I was somewhat amused that they introduced a shrinky character here only to be killed off. Comics seem to hake shrinky people.

On the other I'm amused by a villainous group who listens to Saturn Queen because they're scared shitless of her.

Saturn Queen, Lightning Lord, Hunter, Zymyr the Worm, and the late unlamented Micro Lad are all from previous LoSVs. We met Sunkiller a month or so ago in the Legion title, trying to bust Saturn Queen out before she got to T-G. Questor, Immortus and Akka are new to Legion continuity as far as I can tell.

This has been getting really good reception on Paul Levitz' Facebook page.

A couple of things that got me were that SG's potential has never really been explored--an ambitious, sociopathic master telepath with access to living weapons of mass destruction she can control with her mind.

Also funny to see Mekt reduced to the miserable, stupid, crazy twit in a badly-coordinated outfit(seriously, what factory remainders store gave him that color combination?) he is. Notice last time Levitz had the LSV active, Mekt thought he was in charge--and she was not there. (though in fact it turned out Nemesis Kid was manipulating him)

Yes, you found it, my totally geeky spot, Levitz Legion of Superheroes.

Hm, traditionally the group of immortal, god-like beings that semi-run/ran the DCU were Highfather, Zeus, the Phantom Stranger, that Guardian of the Universe dude who isn'tg as much of a prick as the rest of them, and Shazam.

Since it's unlikely that people could blow up Heaven to get at the Stranger (depending on his origin he might not even be allowed in there), he's presumably off the LoSV's list.

As is Zeus, as he technically doesn't live on another planet, more a quasi-subdimension folded into the space above Mount Olympus in Greece, so unless they're going to blow up Earth to get to him, it might be a tab unlikely. BUT Earth in the DCU is meant to be both the centre of magic in the DCU (as well as the crossroads between numerous parallel and magical dimensions, AND now also the place were life originated or something thanks to Brightest Day) there's a possiblity that they might come after Earth for different reasons.

The only other one left is Highfather, who I think was resurrected along with Barda, Scott etc. at the end of Final Crisis, but the Fifth World is in a parallel dimension (in fact it always was, that's why you had to boomtube there rather than take a FTL ship) so it's kind of unlikely that the bad guys would attack there.

Especially if Apokolips has had a resurgance, in which case attacking them would be incredibly stupid.

The Immortals in question here are the Guardians (or possibly that little tadpole looking thing, since the Guardians appear to...no longer be particularly immortal. Dead, in fact.), Shazam, and...not actually said, but, as there was a cut to the Sorcerer's World and Black Witch, I would assume, coupled with the 'balance' reference, the Lords of Order and Chaos.

The Immortal Worlds, of course, are Oa, the Rock of Eternity, and Gemworld/The Sorcerer's World.

The next world is New Genesis, like the Rock in another dimension, after all.

The figure telling Saturn Queen will turn out to be a bigger manipulator than she, Darkseid.

Tell me that wouldn't make sense if Levitz is planning something big here.

Except if the Rock of Eternity is truly in another dimension, and they could reach it, and if they can also reach New Genesis from the end of Final Crisis (since the original doesn't exist), then what's stopping one of the immortal worlds from being the one where the Monitors live?
