One again, so "dead means dead," huh?

Yes, that's Saganowahna, who was last seen dead in the pages of 52. Remember when we thought DC would at least have the bravery to try to end the constant resurrections? Sigh.

The source turns out to be the Flash, who's wearing some headband that's affecting his mind. Superman helpfully removes it, returning him to normal. The two reverse the changes he made to the town.

Also, we all know that Barry Allen was inspired to become the Flash by the Golden Age Flash. But what superhero inspired Superman? Well...

Nice nod to Arn Munro who was, of course, introduced post-Crisis as a sort of analogue for Golden Age Superman in the "Young All Stars" (and is probably still around somewhere)

I remember headbands were as a common fashion accessory in some depictions of Krypton, but I'm sure that I've seen a 'learning/mind control' variant one too.

Psyched for next issue with Young Bruce and Clark! :D

Date: 2011-03-16 11:59 pm (UTC)Same here! Especially since Bruce is also going to drop in on Clark in the present day. And since Clark has been suffering from PTSD from the whole New Krypton outcome and isn't ok right now, I kind of want Bruce to have a heart to heart talk with him.
Because no matter how emotionally effed up Bruce is, I always liked the fact that he is one of the first people who give Clark a shoulder to lean on when he needs it.

Date: 2011-03-17 05:46 am (UTC)Also, I never understood why fans would insist that "Dead should mean dead" anyway. Why would you want them to kill of (potentially interesting) characters with no chance of resurrection?
Let's not kid ourselves, this is comics, so they'll kill off and bring back whoever they like, whenever they like, regardless what is said to be "official policy". As it is, I'm much more in favour of introducing characters than killing them off.
As for the comic, that panel of Flash with the pie is a think of sublime beauty. And oh my goodness, are those some actual, honest to gosh thought bubbles? Be still, my heart.
Chris Roberson is my new fanboy crush. <3
