FF#1 came out this week.

It was amazing.

iFanboy made it their pick of the week, giving Hickman an FF hat-trick of the death issue, the final issue and the first issue that they made pick of the week.

There's some cracking ideas in this, and the new status quo is being developed nicely.

Because FF doesn't just stand for Future Foundation, it also stands for First Family.

Grandpa Richards is back living with the family. And he's made a roast.

I am metaphorically gagging to read more of this family dynamic and see how Reed deals with living with his dad (and how his Dad deals with meeting the Council)

Especially with the new uncle that's living with them now

Well the obvious reason for not teraforming the moon is a serious lack of gravity. Kinda need that to for an atmosphere.

Reed would be able to create a localised higher gravity field which would affect the surface of the moon but leave Earth untouched... or somesuch I'm sure.

Gravity gun. Increases the gravitational constant applied to any given mass, in this case the moon. Side effects include relativistic time dilation, so the moon experiences seven days in each Earth day, but omlette, eggs, etc...

Alex Power is right there too. I'm sure he'd be a big help.

There's always the blue area of the moon. Though they may need to get Uatu's permission.

Well, it's not like Uatu can do anything if they do bust into his crib to terraform it. :D

And that if the moon's surface wasn't so dark it would reflect masses more light onto earth and a moon light night would be more like daytime? They'd have to make sure no slightly lighter than black fungus took off or lots of things on Earth would be stuffed up. (crops, wildlife, temperature, problems with circadian rhythms)

Even if the albedo of the Moon were much higher (and it's actually far from black now), the effects of increased moonlight would be minimal, since we're talking about going from one millionth the intensity of sunlight to two or three millionths. Moonlight only looks bright because our eyes are really good at adjusting to different light levels.

True, the Moon has too little gravity to hold an Earth-like atmosphere for more than a few hundred or few thousand years before a significant portion of it escapes. On the other hand, if you've got the technology to provide that atmosphere in the first place, you've probably got the technology to replenish it, or put a permeable membrane around it to contain it but allow spaceships to come through, or any number of options. Or, you know, just deal with a shelf life significantly longer than you need to worry about.

It's an awesome idea in itself, but again one wouldn't want to turn it over to the Universal Inhumans after all that work.
