Diana actually seems to like jackets. Every alternate costume has one and she's thrown a leather jacket over her regular one a couple of times.

It's not posted here, but there's a beautiful 2/3-page splash of Di kind of turned to look over her shoulder when Batman first approaches her. Joe Bennett is making me very happy with the art on Diana this issue. :D

That's because it's not a "costume jacket," also it's not drawing attention to her cleavage, it's just a jacket. Like she decided she needs pockets and tossed something on.

I'm starting to like Gen Lost again, with the last two issues, they were good. The beginning was funny with everyone being happy Jaime was alive and everything. It was cute. And PG and Batman showing up and the Diana bits. I liked it.

I know this is probably old news, but I think it's so silly that Diana doesn't remember Bruce or anything. Their dynamic and her strength of character are so utterly lost to me. But sorry, I hate to rehash.

The spirit of truth is lost in a lie! It's like JMS doesn't understand Diana's character AT FUCKING ALL.

From: [personal profile] jlbarnett
the spirit of truth idea is a twenty odd year old addition to a seventy year old character and it's the exact opposite of what she originally was. It's entirely possible his ideas of her were set up well before it.

Plus, since an alteration of her past is what put her in this situation it's sort of like saying Diana's personality should be immune to events. And people are supposed to be formed by those.

Yeah, but since a) there's a difference between the Wonder Woman of the past and the Diana from the past 25 years and b) DC isn't publishing the Wonder Woman of the past anymore, maybe JMS should have altered his idea about her. It's like publishing a modern day story in which Magneto is vile mutant terrorist (OH HO HO WAIT) or Dr. Doom is practically a mustache-twirling cartoonish supervillain (OH HO HO HO HO WAIT) forgetting decades of character development and changing sensibilities in the medium and audience.

And the "alteration of her past" bit is bunko, too. No, she shouldn't be immune to events . . . but practically everyone else IS, apparently, in regards to HER LIFE AND INFLUENCE SHE HAD ON THEM. Batman remembers her as she used to be. Max Lord remembers her as she used to be. This "alteration of her past" sure seems to be rather focused only on her and her family of Themyscirans . . . almost as though it were a GREAT BIG LIE OR FANTASY OR MENTAL MANIPULATION . . . which she would be immune to.

I'm not mad at you, don't take any bile as an attack, I'm just pissed at the situation and the continued fail and blind spots DC has towards Diana. Was Simone's WW really doing THAT terribly that it needed THIS?

the age thing makes me think it won't be mental manipulation. But Bruce was time traveling around the time the timeline change and the entity existed since the dawn of time and Max was also brought back by it.

Plus of course JMS has actually quit on the book and Winnick isn't always great at keeping continuity so I wouldn't be surprised if their intents didn't completely line up.

Diana's jacket is rather nice. Maybe she can integrate elements of her old and new costumes together when her memories go back to normal, to end up with a really nice costume. Also, Jaime is awesome.

To be fair, in his position dealing with WW does seem a sensible option. She gets her memory back and he's screwed.

What I'm interested to know is... why is an important Wondy plot point being written in JLI Gen Lost? And that this, I personally found to be so much more engaging than her actual series, and yet actually made sense for what is going on in her series.
Actually... I found it made *more* sense than what is going on in her series...
