Preview for Dark Reign: Young Avengers #1.

The full preview can be found here (oh, and if you don't feel like straining you neck trying to read that sideways double-spread, it's been flipped here for your convenience).

For legality, here's the recap page, which, like several other comics recently (including at least one issue of Millar's Fantastic Four) mimics the format of a blog posting:

So she's not, then? Makes sense, and Uncle Tony made off with the hard-drive, though if people are really puzzling that much over who Stature is, they're not that smart.

I wonder if Vision and Cassie being on Team Mighty will get a mention, 'cause they would totally be lording that over everybody else. I mean, I would.

I like the comic, but man--it's almost painful to watch some hapless normals (larcenous though they may be) get casually wasted by supers like that. Ouch. Deeply curious to know who these kids are, though; I'm hoping they're characters we've seen before, rather than entirely new ones.

I think most of them are entirely new. Though Cornell has a very good grasp on continuity, so maybe he'll dig up some old forgotten storylines for their origins.

I think Mark Brooks said something about the new Enchantress being the original, Amora. But Cornell has said otherwise.

as much as I like the creative team doing this, and really love the young avengers. going to have to pass and wait for the trade. The only marvel mini series i'm picking up at 3.99 a pop is War of Kings. the rest, sorry, oh well.

So Cassie's officially out of the Initiative? Cool.

Wow 108 comments on that blog. I wonder if L. Rosen calling mr.marvel a troll incited a Pro vs. Anti Registration flamewar.

Yippie. More legacy "heroes". Or de-aged villains. Either way. "Yipee".

Would melting a bullet after it was already in flight do much to it, since the mass of now liquid metal would presumably have the same velocity, mass and temperature as it had before?

It would be a lot less likely to penetrate but it would still do a deal of damage from the impact.

The individual particles of the bullet will have dramatically more kinetic energy, but in random directions - potentially more than the forward momentum of the bullet. It would probably explode in midair.

The dialogue is a bit painfully exposition-y, but young Masters of Evil is a pretty solid concept.
Any thoughts on which classic Avengers Big Bad is secretly pulling their strings..?

As an aside, didn't the original Melter explicitly melt metal without changing it's temperature? Not that it matters here, just curious.

Does anyone else find that the coloring makes the comic really hard to read? It could just be me, or my monitor.
