Is it a socialist monster?
Mar. 27th, 2011 11:08 pmGreetings True Believers!
Here's another fun thing I picked up at C2E2. Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #1. It's a cool retailer variant I got, they did a fun launch gimmick. They sent special variant covers to supporting comic stores that showed the Big G stomping on their store.
Here are a few fun pages. Enjoy!
Godzilla's back and there is a reaction theme.

I like that picture of Godzilla. It's like he's saying, "Hi everyone, Godzilla, King of the Monsters here."
The military attacks Godzilla and does jack-shit. They decide to nuke him which doesn't have the desired.....effect.

Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice, I mean White House, there is the one man who could stop the beast.

Ha, oh Obama.

Date: 2011-03-28 06:09 pm (UTC)Besides, in Cloverfield the monster was an ancient beastie that was hibernating off the coast of New York for millions of years before getting woken up by a falling satellite bashin' it on the noggin. No rifts in reality there.
Though it could definately have been improved by mechas, like a lot of things.
Except Gulliver's Travels.

Also they copied the basic frame of the thing from the alien/grouper/cancer monster in Patlabor 3 which was FAR more impressive and actually horrific (it had a girl's cancer cells spliced in, was going through puberty and developed breasts, AND had some sentience to understand shame so it pulled parts off robots to 'wear' as clothes).
