I heard that joker was the kid in the thompson clinic that Sallie Guzzo kidnapped in a flashback. In issue #19 the Joker mention to Guzzo about the incident.

Bruce's Kane grandfather lost his fortune in one book but was apparently rich enough to leave BILLIONS to his son Nathan in another Batman book out the same month (Batman Inc. where Nathan's widow says her husband left her richer than Bruce).

And I still don't understand how someone whose face has been skinned is able to live without bleeding to death. At least the Hush has Bruce era is over.

I was impressed with how well he was able to enunciate with no lips.

When things say they are richer then Bruce, I wait for time and sense to retcon it.

It may have taken some years but even Lex can't fight the tide of Bruce's wealth.

Yeah, but this has happened before, back in 52 (co-written by Morrison) when the new Batwoman was introduced, we were told the "Kanes" (Kate's family) were richer and more prominent than even the Waynes in Gotham even though (unless they are Bruce's Kane relatives, which 52 never hinted at) they had never been mentioned before (in point of fact Bruce has often been said to be Gotham's #1 citizen). Then flash forward to Rucka's Elegy Batwoman origin (and Rucka has also been involved in 52) and all this Kane "wealth" now seems to only be derived from Jacob's 2nd marriage (and thus not a "Kane" fortune) and even then it is now no longer at Bruce's level.

It's kinda like when Loeb re-introduced the new Supergirl and we were told she was actually stronger than her cousin - something that has now been explicitly retconned out.

Isn't there meant to be more than one set of Kanes? I was under the impression they're meant to be a larger clan than the Wayne family, given Kate and Kathy can apparently live in the same city with the same family name and not be direct relatives like sisters or mother/daughter.

And I still don't understand how someone whose face has been skinned is able to live without bleeding to death. All that plastic and scar tissu underneath. Like peeling a layer of skin off without taking the entire skin.

Hee. That was my first thought, too. Actually, given Morrison's role in the Batbooks, I wonder if it was a deliberate thing.

Yes, but he's now a less sympathetic, less competent Two-Face.

I'd be shocked/wonder at what the writer was thinking if he appears again in the next 5 years.

Yeah, given the importance of the head to the body, and even in a world with Two-Face, I find it more than a little improbable that you can actually skin someone (and whilst they are still conscious) and without the subject bleeding all over the place.

I've wondered that since a certain scene early on in Preacher, and if you've read it I'm sure you know exactly which one. (I suspect that if anyone tried this in real life, their victim would die of shock long before the operation was completed, maybe even before they bled out.)

So who is it stealing Tommy's 'Bruce face'? I haven't been following SOG too closely because I'm still annoyed Dini didn't follow through with his original sales pitch for the book, and he abandoned GCS without even properly justifying the dynamic between the characters.

Jane Doe, I presume. She used to be someone who just impersonated someone with fake skin she made (as least I think that she did, as her victims still had their faces and stuff whilst she was disguised as them), but now she's a skinless woman who can steal people's identities by skinning them and assimilating their flesh onto her body in order to impersonate them better.

Hm, there was a kinda (kind of in that she only ended up in that situation because she was trying to help the protagonists in an earlier storyline, and ended up turning into a monster as a result) sympathetic villain in Hack/Slash who had something like it.

She absorbed people's skin to replace her own as it disintegrated or something, and ended up turning into a giant leathery snake/millipedey thingy.

I thought it might be her, but I didn't even know she was involved in this storyline. *needs to pay closer attention*.

To be fair, there were a LOT of characters in here that had little to do with this storyline.
