They were not kidding that this was a status changer.



From the article:

The publisher would disclose no information regarding the character or image other than to say "Fear Itself" will have a "huge impact" on "Black Panther: The Man Without Fear." Currently written by David Liss, the series is illustrated by Francesco Francavilla, who also drew the American Panther character study.

To be fair there have been at least five Captain Americas; Isaiah Bradley, Steve Rogers, the Fifties one, John Walker, and Bucky Barnes. So.

Yeah but Cap Corps is more of a cosmic doo-hickey were Caps from different timelines are pulled together for a single mission. I highly doubt American Panther is even related to that.
