So they have apparently decided to redo the Wonder Woman costume from the new television show.  I honestly think I liked the shiny better.

Source.

And for legality, I'm going to hug my Mr. Dodson version of Wondy.

 What do you think?

I think they should have kept the original tiara design. It seems stronger then the new one.

Off-topic, but related to your icon, did you know that the Jem series is coming out on DVD? Same company that's doing the Transformers releases.

Also, I rather like the non-shiny pants better, but damn all the hardware looks like plastic. Hopefully there's something they can do to jazz it up in post.

I think for me it's that the top and bottom don't really match. Then again, Wonder Woman's costume is hard to do "realistically" without looking like porn.

I have funny story about this whole show.

Turns out that one of the workers from my local comic, Earth 2, went to a small party where he ran into a group of people chatting about the new Wonder Woman series. He asked what was up with the sexandthecity vibes from it and the fact that she cried so much among other bashing comments. After a minute of ranting, one of the men in the group leaves, obviously mad. The guy asks what was the mans problem. Turns out it was David E. Kelly.

Things like this and the people who point out to writers that their basic coloured shirts make them look like the Green Lantern Corps in panels are the things which remind me why the really hardcore, socially inept fans will never get a paying job in the industry. And then I rest easy at night.

Things I like:

1. Pants/leggings are no longer shiny and they actually look like they could be comfortable to wear.
2. Boots are red and are not high heeled
3. She isn't covered in crappy make-up like she was in that other photo

Things I dislike:

1. The top in general. It's just too shiny and it's so tight and low cut that it makes it look like her boobs are trying to escape just so they can get air
2. All the metal parts look like they're made out of plastic
3. Something is just really off about the tiara. Too small, maybe? I don't know.
4. Her lasso looks like it's made out of something I could go to a craft store and buy for like five cents a yard.

I really just don't know what to think of this show. The costume isn't great, but it isn't horrible. I'm just hoping that there were a looooot of adjustments made to that script that was put online or this is gonna be quite the train wreck.

I agree on your positives.

On the negatives:
1. Yes, the material sucks. Also, with the cut... it needs to be higher or have straps. It also needs to be sized correctly - the torso portion looks like paint, and she's spilling out of the bust portion.
2. Painted plastic. Don't forget that part. It looks like the kind of plastic and paint that is used for some little kids' jewelry or some inexpensive trophy figurines. At the very least, they need to use some real bloody aluminum. Maybe even stainless steel and brass, if they're feeling daring.
3. Too small, too patterned, and it is M-shaped instead of flat and flared at the middle or V-shaped. It also doesn't look like it goes all the way around her head and is just half-covered by hair, but like it is a front panel held in place with hairpins or string or something.
4. Dear Lord, yes! It looks like the craft rope string you use to hang some Christmas ornaments instead of the metal hooks, only thicker. The only time I have ever seen that sort of stuff look even remotely classy, it was being used to put a small Celtic knot on the skirts of the simple dresses used as a main costume for the female members of a university Irish dance group. And the only reason that looked classy was because it was seen from a distance with stage lighting and it was sewn on well (or, at least, I'd like to think my one friend's knot was sewn on particularly nicely, since I was the one sewing it on due to her lack of ability with a needle and thread).

What I'm thinking of the show is this: a good script and good acting can save a show even if the costuming is bad (and it's no longer utterly horrible, so points there!). But all the costume changes in the world aren't going to save them if the writers can't write something decent.

I like that the pants are not excessively shiny and no longer look like bodypaint. I like that the boots are red and flat-soled, not blue and seriously high-heeled. I do not like that the metal accents once again look like plastic (in the previously seen shot of the modified costume, the lighting made them look like actual metal, cheap metal admittedly, but at least metal). Her top looks more like vinyl than leather (the material I believe it should look like), and does not appear to be the correct size (it looks like she's got a little bit of quad-boob going on), and I'm worried she's going to have a wardrobe malfunction with it being that low-cut without straps unless there's some major tape and/or glue action going on there. Her tiara and lasso look like bloody toys, and there is a design on her bracelets! All in all: improvements, yes, but there are other things I wish they would also do. Not great, but not as horrible as before. Now, I'm just going to hope they make more improvement than this to the script. Because what I have heard about previously is a train wreck, and I desperately want to like the show just because it's Wonder Woman.

Once again, half the costumers I know could do a better job, especially if someone gave them a budget. Slight improvement below the waist, but none of that metal looks like it could stop my jewelry pliers, let alone bullets. Top needs to be cut higher and boned or reinforced. And the actress should consider lifting some weights. I'm seeing sideboobsquish where I should be looking at a nearby bicep. Who the heck is doing these costumes?

I'm going to quietly hope that these are all "test run" costumes and that they haven't spent the budget for the real goods yet until they see the feedback from these.

Ok, to all the people who are complaining that the metal looks like plastic... You do realize that it would be impossible to make a real high-quality Wonder Woman costume with the crappy budget of a TV show, right?

If this were a Wonder Woman movie, like Batman Begins, then sure, the costume should look much better. But this is a TV show, like Smallville.

Remember how cheesy the old Batman TV show was? Ok, that show is very old, but Smallville is new, and Superman didn't even get a costume, he didn't even get to be called Superman. Looks-wise, Diana is being treated much better than Clark was, at least she gets to be a honest-to-goodness superhero.

I'll be the first to complain about the writing (still hoping to God that the mind-bogglingly idiotic scene of Diana complaining because her breasts aren't big enoguh and she feels inadeguate won't really be in the show), but the costume is about as good as a superhero costume can be in a TV show.

So Xena had Titanic-level money to play with? Because this stuff right here looks like metal armor and weaponry to me, and its modern equivalent would look a hell of a lot better on Diana than the plastic pieces the costumers apparently yanked off some old Shogun Warriors. They don't have to actually use 24k gold when making something that looks like golden metal.
