Making it look easy is hard to do. Getting the characterization with such well known and beloved characters even more so.

And that's why they should only use really good writers on Spidey, instead of trying to "simplify" the character so less good writers can handle him.

That's pretty much one of the reason I can't quite bring myself to hate Slott like a lot of people do.

A lot of that "hate" is nothing more than severe disappointment, based in part on heightened expectations from things like the Spidey/Torch mini. That's certainly the case with me.
